Coach Jerry Roisentul On Overcoming Personal Tragedy
Good, beautiful day, you beautiful souls. I am the collector and connector of fascinating people, and everyone is fascinating, especially YOU and especially my esteemed guest, Jerry Roisentul. I’m so excited for you to meet him and know about all that he’s got going on in this world. I am super excited to remind us that we’re going to get centered here for a few moments and have a little mini vacation, my little breathing time. We’re going to breathe in some calm for 7 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, and breathe out gratitude for 11 seconds.
Will you join me in this little be still and know moment? How’s that? Here we go. Hold and release. I wish we’d do that more often, taking a few moments out of our busy day and taking 22 seconds to breathe in some calm and have our wonderful time to be still, know, and listen to that still, small voice more often than most of us are able to do in this world. It’s a busy world we’re in.
Looking Back
I’m grateful that I had this amazing guest. We’re both authors in this amazing book, The Change book series. That’s how we met through this mastermind with Jim Lutes and Jim Britt, an amazing group of people. Before I go any further, I want to let the world know that on my show, Jerry Roisentul is joining us. Coach Jerry is what he is better known as. He is out there in the California sector. I want you to tell us who you are in this world. What’s going on? Who are you? We’ll then talk about what you do.
Let’s get right to it. My clients call me Coach Jerry because they butcher my last name almost every time. I said, “Why don’t you call me Coach Jerry? You can’t butcher that. That’ll be good.” Everybody was happy with it. First of all, I want to say I am so excited that you and I are in the same book, The Change, together. We’re right after each other. I’m excited about that and honored to be here as a guest on your show. Thank you for having me.
Who am I? I live out here in beautiful and hot Palm Springs, California, where, in the summertime, the average daily weather is 115 degrees. I grew up in a much different environment. I grew up in West Los Angeles by the beach. I lived near Marina del Rey. I lived near Playa del Rey. Santa Monica Beach, I was there all the time as a kid growing up.

I moved out here many years ago to start my life out here because it was way more expensive to do it in LA than it was to do it down here in the desert. I’ve been out here for 30 years. I’ve built several businesses. I started out in real estate when I was out here. I built a very successful network marketing business for eighteen years. I’ve been coaching, training, and mentoring around the world for the last couple of years.
I have a son who is the joy of my life. If I ever wonder, “Did I do anything right in my life?” I look at my son and realize I did something right. He lives out here. He lives with me because, for young kids, it’s hard to get a start out there. He’s living with me and paying rent. He and I have a very close relationship. I love spending as much time with him as I possibly can.
What a legacy right there, and he’s paying rent.
That’s right. He’s got to learn.
I had a different experience with mine. I have some grandkids, but the two-and-a-half-year-old is nearby. I see her so often. That’s how I knew I did something right.
That is right.
Success To Devastation
Good kids, but great grandkids. It’s all conversation with me. I don’t really do interviews so much. Lead it wherever you want and make sure you get your points in because I talk a lot. My name means to chat and joy in Greek.
I love conversations. Conversations are far better.
I don’t have a list of questions other than I really know a tiny bit about your journey or your story because you told all in this wonderful The Change book. I’m sure it wasn’t all told, but you told a lot. You talked about success to devastation, and then what?
To understand where I’m at, it’s important to go back to where I was. There are a lot of people who are in difficult times who think, “These are the cards that I’ve been dealt.” They’re the cards you’re dealing with at the moment, but it’s your choice whether to keep them or change them in for another set of cards. It all goes back to the way we think in our mindset.

The reason I got into mindset training, mindset work, and leadership development training is because of the experiences that I had in my life back in 2006 and 2007. I had built a very successful network marketing business. I met my son’s mom and we got married. We worked together pretty much 24 hours a day for 10 years in that business, building it together. We built it from scratch.
When my son was born in 2003, we started going through these difficult challenges. At the time, my ex-wife, my son’s mom, was upset that I wasn’t there helping out. She was doing all of the stuff with my son and yet, I was the one running a business to try and keep her home so that she could stay there and not have to go to work. It led to a lot of stuff. It led to three years of counseling and therapy, the whole nine yards. We decided to separate in the summer of 2006, and then I had my first experience with massive depression.
I always tell people when I counsel them or I minister to them that depression is like a riptide. It grabs a hold of you and it refuses to let go. It doesn’t mean you can’t get beyond it, but you got to work at it. By the end of that summer of 2006, the business that I had built up to that point of thirteen years imploded right before my eyes. My business fell apart. My income tanked. With my son, I went from having him every day to having him twice a week because I was working during the week. That’s where the depression came from.
It all culminated. In November of 2006, I was lying on the floor of my apartment and holding a notepad, pen, and a bottle of pills. I started writing a letter to my son, who was three and a half years old at the time, trying to explain to him when he got a little bit older why his dad took his own life. It was one of the most horribly dark experiences of my life.
The good that came from that was when I had my first encounter with the living God. I know that God saved my life that day because he had a greater plan and purpose for me than what I saw at that moment. When I was able to get back up off that floor, I started asking myself some questions. I was like, “How did this happen? How did the guy who was the motivator, the encourager, the inspiration, and the one that everyone came to talk to with their problems end up on the floor getting ready to end it all?”
It began this journey of understanding the power of our thinking, the power of our thoughts, and the power of what we focus on. When I was doing well, I was the manager of my own mindset. When I found myself on that floor, my mindset had managed me. I made a decision that I wanted to spend my life helping people get beyond these mental blocks that we all have in our lives. Those are the limiting beliefs, the doubts, the fears, the insecurities, the distractions, and the disappointments. It’s all about how we focus.
I always say that success is won or lost in our minds. You can have all the greatest tools, skills, and things you need to win, but if you have a jacked-up, screwed-up, or messed-up way of thinking, you’re not going very far. Many people are struggling and look at their outside circumstances as, “This isn’t happening. That’s not happening.” It’s not happening in your mind. Success comes from the inside out. We sometimes focus on what is working on the outside. We need to work on what’s going on on the inside.
if you have a messed-up way of thinking. Share on XThat began my journey of getting myself back up and getting myself moving forward. That wasn’t the last challenge I faced in my life. They kept coming. I had to keep jumping over the hurdles like a runner in the Olympics, like, “Here’s another hurdle I got to leap over. Here’s another one.” The mistake that people make is that we get exhausted and tired of jumping hurdles, and we stop running. We stop doing the things that we know that we need to do. That’s where I find a lot of people.
What my coaching and my program are designed to do is help people develop that champion mindset. How do we get inside of your mind? How do we figure out where these things have come from? How did you create them? They didn’t fall into your mind. There were experiences that you’ve had that have created it. We hold onto it. I try to help people release themselves from those things so that they can free themselves to be able to move forward and become who they were created to be. That’s how my journey began. That’s where I’m at in my journey of helping people.
That’s amazing. I heard, and I don’t know where, that the antidote to depression is an action or a step. It’s doing one thing, the next thing. That’s a simplistic way to say it. My son, a while back, couldn’t even get out of bed to go to the bathroom. That was the deep stuff that had horrific implications. Another thing is when you have something that has to be taken care of, an animal or a child, or maybe you can see a light to help someone else who might be worse off than you. Those are little hints to get a little bit towards the mindset of healing.
I say this probably every show because it’s so critical to me. I didn’t know this. We weren’t taught a lot of these things. We always say to live in the present, but where you are is all you have. This is the way I say it. Where you are is all you have. Right here and right now, no matter what your circumstances are, this is all you have in this split second in time.
Realize that you can’t change anything that’s happened in the past. You can’t change the last word, the last week, or the last generation. You can’t change one thing that way. You can only change the next step, the next word, or the next direction. If you don’t like where you are, take a breath. You have an opportunity to do something different or take a different step. It is moving this way to realize that all that brought you here from the beginning of Let There Be Light has brought you and me to have this conversation at this moment, right this second.
Overcoming Your Past
One of the things that you said that was really important about your past, and one of the things I teach people, is that your past is your history. It’s not your destiny unless you make it that way. How many people have you heard of that grew up in environments of massive abuse, whether it be physical abuse, sexual abuse, or verbal abuse, and yet now, they’re not those people?
Did that mean that what happened didn’t happen? No. That means that they made a conscious choice that, “I will not be defined by what happened. I am the writer of my story. That was a chapter of my story. That was not the end of it.” We have the ability to write that new story. We can either be a victim or we can be a victor. I choose to be a victor and to say, “My past, I learned from it. I grow from it and become better because of it, but my future is written by me, nobody else.”
I love that. My past guest, Mirna Martinez, Mirna.CEO, when I first heard her story, she was, at two years old, chained to a dining room table and forced to watch pornography and freezing. She had a baby with her brother at age eleven. She has 52 brothers and sisters and was raised in the hood. She’s a CEO of several companies. She’s this Latina dynamo.
Out of all her siblings, she had some drive. Somebody saw something in her. She had the drive to pull herself up and out. Her goal growing up was to be the toughest kid in the hood. They can’t see past that. That’s in the DFW area, the hood in Dallas. They’re everywhere. It’s a tough life. When you start hearing those stories, hers is about one of the worst that I personally know. She’s chosen.
She made the choice.
This is the deal. It’s all a choice. Everything is a choice, and people can’t grasp that. You get to choose how you’re going to react. You can’t necessarily choose what happens often, but you can certainly choose how you react to it.
You’re right. One of the things that God put in my spirit during that journey back was something that has shaped how I look at the things in my life. For the audience that’s reading this, this could help you as well. This is what I felt. You either are overcome by your challenges or you overcome your challenges. The choice is up to you. You are either overcome or you overcome. It’s your choice.

That has really shaped who I am as a man and as a leader. That shaped the way I help people. I am compassionate and empathetic to the challenges that people have gone through because we’ve all been through that. At the end of the day, either the challenges overcome us or we overcome the challenges. That’s the choice we make. She made the choice, “I will overcome this. I will not allow this to overcome me.” That is power in action.
Action is the keyword there. It’s so true. When you’re in a dark, dark place when you’re in a dark place, you look at people like him and me that look like we got it together. Let me tell you. I don’t have it together at all. First of all, I have an attitude of gratitude. Gratitude is the key. I’m thankful that I can take a breath or thankful that I have five fingers, or whatever it is. It doesn’t matter.
When you start with gratitude, I believe that is a key or a trick to breaking through some of these depressions or anger. I tell my grandkids, “Nobody can make you angry without your permission. Nobody can upset you without your permission. Nobody can hurt your feelings without your permission.” Keep your shell around you and let that reflect back. Bullies are victims, too. When they’re in that mindset, don’t be a victim around it. Consider, “Why would they say things? Why would they be that way?” It’s because of where they come from.
Let me piggyback off that for a quick moment. I always get asked the question, “How did you get beyond your depression? How did you get past it?” When you talk about gratitude, gratitude is such a powerful emotion that we don’t think enough of. When you are depressed, you are focusing on everything that is wrong, everything that is not happening, and everything that has happened to you. That stirs up an emotion. When you focus on gratitude, you’re focusing on everything that’s right and everything that’s good. That also stirs up an emotion.
When you are depressed, you focus on the wrong things. When you focus on gratitude, you focus on the right ones. Share on XOne of the things that I learned is that it’s hard to be grateful and depressed at the same time. It’s difficult to do. When I was in those deep moments of depression, what I realized was, “I’ve got to get my mind focused on something that’s not depressing me.” I had my gratitude journal. In those deep, dark moments of depression when the world was caving in on me or when I felt like there was no way out, I took out a notepad and made a list of what I could be grateful for. I wrote my health, my son, and my mom. I would make this list. I’d come up with 10 or 12 things and focus on all of that. In the midst of everything, I still had things that I can be thankful for. These things and these people are the very ones that help pull me out of that depression.
Everyone, no matter what they’re dealing with, has something you can be grateful for. If we focus more on what we’re grateful for and not what we’re waiting for or what’s tearing us down, we will get through things a little easier than if we don’t. I agree with you 100%. Gratitude is one of the most powerful emotions that we can focus on in our lives.

The other side of that is once you get started on the gratitude side, I believe it will lift up forgiveness, which is another one. Those two are like anchors. Gratitude is the key, and forgiveness is required if you want to have a whole heart-filled or heart-centered life. My way of saying it is upset draws upset. You’re going to get more of what you focus on. We all know that. We don’t want to know it. We don’t think about it sometimes. What can we do at this moment to change one thing in our lives? If you don’t like where you are, do something different.
Change where you are.
Speak a new word. I’ve discovered this. Every word matters. I have books that I’ve written. One is Split-Second Transformation. Every word matters. When my friend kicked the little stool, she damned it. She was like, “Damn stool.” I was like, “Why are you damning my stool?” Every word matters. It was a simple, silly example, but I had been thinking about it. I was like, “Even something that simple, you’re cursing things that are worth cursing. Who cares if you kicked the stool?” Does that make any sense at all?
Forgiveness
One hundred percent. Once again, you said forgiveness. That’s so important. I don’t have time to get into all of it, but I can only say this. Forgiveness is vitally important for you to open yourself for the blessings of God to come into your life. God cannot bless you the way that you might want if you have a heart of unforgiveness. Forgiving someone is not for them. Forgiving someone is for yourself to free yourself of that emotion that will block things from coming into your life.
Many times, when I’m coaching people, we’re getting into those deep places. I always ask people, “Are there people in your life that you are holding unforgiveness against?” I’m not a licensed therapist or a marriage counselor. If they need that, I will recommend that they do that, but I can give them basic things that will help them.
I’ve helped many people overcome their unforgiveness towards people simply by doing things that I did when I had to forgive the people in my life that hurt me and that wronged me and realized that I was holding onto something that was keeping me bound to that place. What you said was so right on the money. You’ve got to forgive and then be grateful. Those two things, those pillars, are what can transform your life. I agree with you.
Positive Attitude
When you’re in those dark places, it’s very challenging to make yourself because the self-talk is so pervasive. There’ll be 60,000 or 70,000 thoughts a day, and 99% of them are the same thoughts you had yesterday. You can train yourself to do something different. One thing I would highly recommend, if we’re talking about this to people who need to know, is to turn off your devices and please turn off the news and the media. Take some time to get grounded. Walk outside. Get grounded. Hug a tree if you need to. Walk barefooted. It’s huge. Get in the water. Do something grounding to the earth to get out of this electronic frenzy we are in.
It’s sad because you and I grew up in a time when that didn’t exist. We didn’t have the internet. We didn’t have cell phones. I remember when I was a young kid and I was out playing, my dad said to me, “When the streetlights come on, you need to come home.” Kids don’t even understand what that means. We live in this technology world. It’s going so fast and it’s massively addicting.
It’s part of what’s affecting our youth and the next generation behind us. They are so tied to social media. Does it have its place? Of course. Does it have a purpose? Sure. It can do some good. You said that the key is to turn off the news. The news is never ever going to tell you what’s good. They’re going to always tell you what’s bad, what’s negative, or that the world’s coming to an end. Don’t turn it off. Listening to that will depress you.

It’s all fear-based. It keeps you engaged in a fearful mindset. Back at the beginning of 2020, I was making little videos that said, “Be prepared, not scared. There’s so much more going on than meets the eye. Don’t live in fear. Live in your faith that things are not as they seem or things are getting better. Keep loving people. Your message and your mannerisms attract people because you’re the light in the dark place. Be the light. Keep letting people see that it’s okay to be happy and it’s okay to be positive.” It’s really beneficial to have a good attitude. People were always like, “You’re Pollyanna. It’s not reality.” I’m like, “It’s my reality.”

It’s not because people always have a positive attitude that it means they don’t have stuff they’re dealing with in their life. They’re choosing the attitude they’re going to have towards it. I don’t know about you, but I have stuff going on all the time in my life that pressures and stresses me. I have things I have to deal with. My attitude is a choice. I’m not saying, “I’m this perfect person.” I’m choosing, “This is how I’m going to be.” That doesn’t mean I don’t have things that I’m dealing with, overcoming, and going through, but I make a conscious choice that I don’t want to be that way.
We’re called to be a light in the darkness. What kind of light are people shining out there? What do people see with your light? Do they see positivity like, “That’s someone I want to be around,” or is that light coming on and people are going, “Wrong room. I got to get out of here.” I want to be a light that brings people to me, not the light that pushes people away from me. That one is a choice we make.
I say this all the time. I am a collector and connector of fascinating people. I have friends that we go out to dinner with, and I met them at Aldi’s. It’s because my aura, my spirit, or whatever you want to call it, is positive. All of us have one. It’s either repelling or attracting. That’s the Holy Spirit inside of us. The happier you are, the bigger it gets. The more positive or the more grateful you are for everything that happens, you attract more of it. You’ll have more things to be grateful for.
I agree with you. 100%. We’re not trying to tell people, “Things are always going to be easy.” We’re not here to make light of what people are going through because we’re all going through stuff, some worse than others. I’ve known from studying successful people and reading incredible biographies of people that overcoming is a choice that we make. We make the choice to be overcome or we make the choice to overcome.
God gives us free will. That’s the beauty of it. He gives us the free will to make whatever choices we want to make. That’s on us. I may not be able to control the circumstances that happened in my life like many people. We can’t control all the things that happen to us, but we can control what’s happening in us. How you handle things in the darkness is going to help you handle things better in the light. That goes back to the theme of this conversation, which is choice. It’s all a choice.
My signature is, “Choose joy,” for a lot of years. When I found out my name means joy, that was amazing.
It fits you perfectly.
My parents were prophetic. My name means to chat in Spanish and joy in Greek. They didn’t know, but God did.
That’s all that matters.
Give your website here so people can figure out who you are and how people can find you.

Don’t Let Doubt Take You Out
You’ve written a book called Don’t Let Doubt Take You Out. That’s an amazing name for a book that I’m sure is very impactful as well.

It’s been a good book. It’s a bestseller. It’s an award winner. People have been blessed by it. It’s my journey and lots of different things. I talk about Imposter Syndrome, procrastination, and all these things that create doubts and then give people specific tools on how to overcome them.
We’re in a season of humanity that is seemingly out of control. It’s crazy. Keep grounded and keep connected with people who will lift you up instead of tearing you down and things like that. Complaining becomes a habit and becomes a rut in your brain. You can’t get out of it easily, so stop it. Nobody wants to hear it anyway. Nobody cares.
That’s the absolute truth.
That’s good. I didn’t know if you were going to agree on that one or not. Unless you’re doing something or taking action to change what you’re complaining about, zip it. It’s not worth it. If you have something to deal with, deal with it. If you need mentorship, handholding, or whatever, that’s fine, but don’t go into it over and over a million times and you’re saying the same thing. It’s not serving any good purpose.
That’s correct. It keeps you stuck. I always tell people, “If you’re in quicksand, don’t focus on the fact that you’re sinking. Focus on, “What can I do to get out of this quicksand?” It’s a mindset shift. You’ll never get out if you’re not focused on the solution. You’re always going to get stuck if you keep focusing on, “Why am I getting stuck? Why am I here?” You’re going to keep sinking. Focus on, “What can I do? Can I make a call? Can I follow up with somebody?”
I always tell people, “The way you get out of the quicksand of life or the way you get out of your problems is to do one positive thing. Don’t think of 15 or 20 and overwhelm your mind. Think, “What’s one thing I can do to begin the change?” Make that call. Follow up with that person. Do something that you’ve been procrastinating. One positive step in the right direction can be all you need to spark you to move forward. One thing can make a difference.”
Get out of the quicksand of life by doing one positive thing. Share on XI love that so much. I had a conversation with someone and he was mentoring or talking with someone. She was in this slump. She was like, “I can’t seem to get out of it.” He said, “Sometimes, you need to kick somebody in the booty to get them to think differently. Why don’t you go fix your hair, get dressed up, and act as if you are the successful person you were or that you intend to be?” That’s a positive step.
Sometimes, taking a shower feels better. He said that a few days later, he saw her again and she was stunning. She transformed. I’ve lived in a whole lot of chaos in the last few years. At the very least, get your sink clean. Have one thing that you focus on. Even if you put everything out on the counters, have a place where you can wash your hands or rinse a dish. That mentality makes you feel a little bit accomplished.
Big time, and that changes your mindset. There’s one quick quote I’ll share with you before we wrap up. I love this quote from T. Harv Eker. He wrote a book called Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. It’s a fabulous book. He says in the book, “How you do anything is how you do everything.” I love it. It’s simple and so true. If you procrastinate in one area, chances are you’re procrastinating in every area of your life. That’s a great reminder that how we do anything is how we do everything.
I went to a T. Harv Eker Millionaire Mind workshop. I was the first one in the room that broke an arrow with my throat. It’s not walking on fire, but it’s a mindset kind of a thing as well. Have you ever heard of Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway?
That’s right. Dr. Susan Jeffers.
I still have that arrow somewhere. It’s amazing how you can break the board when you have the mindset. We have dumbed down. We have been trained to think that we don’t have very much power. Jesus said, “You can do what I did and even more.”’ It’s John 14:12 some. We believe a lot of other things he says, but do we believe that? I do. I’ve witnessed it.
I do, 100%.
Were you taught that in religion? I was raised religiously, but I don’t think religion ever taught us that we could do what Jesus did. People are like, “He’s way over here. That was the Old Testament,” or, “That’s in the old days, many years ago. That doesn’t apply today.” Are we picking and choosing?
It says that we’re supposed to develop the mind of Christ. Look at his mind. If we’re supposed to develop the mind of Christ, we’ve got some work to do because that’s a pretty powerful mindset. We’re never going to be perfect. I always tell people, “Progress over perfection. Stop trying to be perfect. Focus on making progress. Perfection is overrated. People can’t duplicate perfection. The only perfect person died 2,000 years ago and none of us are going to follow. It’s progress over perfection any day. Develop that strong mindset.”
It takes work. It’s not easy. I still work on my mindset daily. The Bible says to renew your mind daily, not once in a while, not when you feel like it, or not when the world’s caving in. It says, “Renew your mind daily.” That’s because every day, you’ve got new challenges, new obstacles, and new setbacks. Your mind has got to be prepared to work on those every single day. It’s a work in progress.
I say strive for excellence. Strive to do the best you can do and be the best you can be. If you strive for perfection, you’re setting yourself up for failure. I agree with that 100%. Be the best you can be. I’m having a great time. It’s never about religion on my show. We talk about religion or some scripture here and there, but it’s not. It’s who I am. I don’t have rules and regulations or God in a box anymore.
God doesn’t have a box. If he’s unconditional love, then I’m going to be unconditional love. That’s my goal. Am I there? Am I perfect? No. Another way of doing this is when things happen to you. I suggest that instead of taking on the upset of that, you be blessed. The easiest example is you get cut off and you’re like, “Ah.” May you be blessed. You’ve heard of people talking about whatever happened on the road for days. Get over it.
You can’t control the fact that that person cut you off. You control how you respond to it. You never know. That person might have an emergency. Something may have happened. They’re racing to get home to their kid or their spouse. You don’t know.
Do you know what I like to say? I’m like, “They must have to go to the bathroom more than me.”
That’s always a good one to remember. It’s like, “That person’s bladder’s going to blow up pretty soon. I feel bad for them. Let me pray for them.”
The Change
May you be blessed. Relax, release, and let it go. I guarantee you that life is going to be smoother without holding on to the anger and the angst. It’s not going to serve you. I promise that. This has been a real delight.
It’s been great.
If anybody reads this that knows you, they need to reach out to you so they can be an author. If it intrigues you to be an author in The Change book series with Les Brown on the cover, if you know Jerry, reach out to him. If you know me, reach out to me because it’s an introduction.
We have our two mentors on the back of the book. One is Jim Lutes, a 30-year professional in the speaking industry. He is amazing. Another is Jim Britt. Jim Britt was Tony Robbins’ first mentor and was Jim Rohn’s partner for years. Part of the beauty of The Change book series is once a month. We get to get on with these two legends and be mentored and trained by them. It’s unbelievable.

Implementation is another piece of our world. I have learned some of the simplest, most straightforward, and easy-to-do or simple-to-do, for sure, marketing tips that I’ve ever heard in my life in the last few months from these guys. They’re easygoing, down-to-earth people, but they’re really masterful at marketing, getting things out there, and helping us. I love that group, both the mastermind and the Facebook group. It’s probably one of the more, “I had to take out a loan to do it.” Is it $3,500 or something like that? That’s the way it is.
The trainings are worth the investment all by itself, and then you get the book on top of that.
You have this little piece of marketing material. That’s great. There are twenty authors in total, give or take. That’s a huge piece of the reason we met anyway. People that want that credibility factor, reach out to one of us because we can introduce you to these guys. I love that. Our time is winding down. I really appreciate getting to know you. You’ve got so much to offer.
Thank you.
In your chapter in the book, you’ve got step by step on your process.
It’s about overcoming limited beliefs. It’s the process I’ve used for years. I wanted to put it in there because I thought it would be a blessing to people who would read it. It’s great. You’re right before me. We’re back-to-back, which is fantastic. I love that. That’s how we met. It’s another great connection, relationship, and friendship all brought together by being part of this incredible book series.
It was so random how I found out about it. I chose to take that bold step to do something. This is what it is. I was like, “Why me? Who am I? Why am I going to be in a book?” She said, “Why not you?”
That’s right. Why not tell your story? You have a story to tell, too. Why not tell it?
I have tons of stories. Everybody’s got stories. That’s why I’m doing my show. I want people to have hope. I want them to have skills to overcome. We’re all overcomers, and we all have a story. Thank you so very much for being my guest.
Thank you for having me.
I can’t wait to keep in touch and see where we land. I’m very inspired by your story of overcoming because a lot of us have gone through that.
I appreciate your friendship. I appreciate being on your show. I know this is the first of many good things you and I will do together. There’s no doubt about it.
Episode Wrap-Up
Let’s keep in touch, for sure. It’s ChampionMentorship.com by Jerry Roisentul. Do you have any last words?
I want to encourage whoever’s reading this to know that whatever you’re going through, you can get past it and will. It may take some time, it may take some growth, and it may take you doing different things in different ways, but I promise you that whatever you’re going through, you will overcome. You have to do the right things and get your mind in the right place to make that happen.
Whatever you are going through, you will overcome. Do the right things and get your mind in the right place. Share on XWhile you’re saying that, don’t allow, both of us being so positive, yourself to think, “I could never talk to them.” I’m real. I’m really down to earth. Jerry said it, too. He’s an open book. We both are. We have been through enough to offer solutions, suggestions, and hope for you. What you see is certainly not all there is.
To wrap this up, do you know what I always tell people? To someone reading, if you put me on a pedestal, do me a favor and knock me off. We’re able to connect with people, you and I, because we’ve been through the valleys. You can’t connect with people and understand their circumstances if you’ve never been through any yourself.
It’s because of what we’ve overcome that we can help people get beyond that. Don’t put us on pedestals. We’re like you in the trenches, working hard, trying to be the best that we can be, getting knocked down, and getting back up. We’re no different than you, so don’t put us somewhere that we don’t belong.
Amen. Blessings to you. I’ll see you next time.
