Introduction
Good, beautiful day, you beautiful, beautiful souls! This is Charla Anderson, Host of the Charla Anderson show collector and connector of fascinating people, and everyone is fascinating, especially you.
I am so excited today. Is mental health a life sentence? What if it isn’t anymore today? With her groundbreaking approach called energy-based psychotherapy, Meera Jain empowers clients to rapidly and effectively overcome anxiety, traumas, and depression, and all those mental health names we have to discover a life of freedom and joy. Oh, my gosh! This is so up my alley!
But first, let’s do our little 22 second mini vacation, a little breathing exercise to breathe in, set calm for 7 seconds, hold for 4 seconds and breathe out gratitude for 11 seconds, so if you don’t mind, just join me. Let’s get some breath grounding going on here. Breathe in calm, hold, release. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Yes, we all should do that probably multiple times a day. And you know, just a little tiny kind of a little mini break right? So I am so intrigued by this topic of mental health being able to be effective and quickly, rapidly. It’s not a life sentence for for those that have had these things that there’s so many names of all of them, you know, depression probably being one of the bigger ones. But I am looking forward to getting to know who you are, and just tell us a little bit about who you are in this world, what your plan is, and where’d you get? How’d you get to Pearland, Texas, and where? Where, then? We’ll talk about all these amazing things that you’ve discovered.
Yeah, I probably can’t remember all the questions that you asked. 1st of all, I’ll say thank you to Alan Mikolaj for introducing us, Charla. He told me that you were absolutely amazing, and I can see that I agree with him. You are absolutely amazing and absolutely wonderful at what you do so. Thank you so much for having me on this show, and I can’t wait to share my experiences and my story with your audience. So I think you asked me how I got to Pearland, Houston, as you can tell from my accent. It’s a very British accent.
So I grew up in the UK. Although I was born in Singapore, and my husband and I moved to the US in 2000, so I’ve been in the US now for I would say 24, a little over 24 years. My husband is actually in cancer research. And that was the reason why we moved to the US.
Well, that’s a Houston area, which is the big, you know, and we were talking before the show, and I was like, if they would take this C word out of the vocabulary, and we’d quit focusing on it. I think it would. We’d have a whole lot less of it in my estimation. But so I didn’t even know that about you.
Houston is the, you know, the medical capital of the United States. I’m pretty sure, at least in that genre. So you’re both in the medical field, so to speak. And you’ve been in Houston or in the United States now for quite some time.
Actually, I haven’t, Charla. We came here when we first came here, 24 years ago we were in Arizona. And so, because of my husband’s work, we’ve actually lived in 3 other states. This is our 4th state. But it was of our choosing. Finally, it wasn’t because of his work that we moved here. And we’re fairly new to Texas. Actually, we moved here 2 years ago.
Wow. Okay. I’m native of the Houston area. So I love the Fort Worth area. But you know that that was home most of my youth and so you know, you’ve got the credentials. You’ve got all kinds of credentials in the medical field of mental health, and that you went to university in UK. And so something shifted. Let’s talk about what happened. You know that tradition.
That’ll help.
Of a life sentence of mental health it is. I’m grateful that you have figured some of that out.
So my story is really going from traditional mental health to integrative mental health. And so I’ll start at the beginning. I was drawn to psychology from a young age and it primarily it was for 2 reasons, the 1st being that I wanted to understand myself and other people. And as I got deeper and deeper into psychology, the second reason emerged, and that second reason was I wanted to understand suffering and help people transform suffering.
And as I got deeper into psychology, I was drawn to mental health because I felt that somehow these mental health struggles were some of the worst suffering that a human being could go through so after I graduated, after I finished my postgraduate studies, I was working as an assistant clinical psychologist in Oxford and Oxfordshire has a number of mental health institutions, some of them old Victorian buildings and my role would sometimes take me to different places to different hospitals.

And I remember one day it was very early in the morning and it was a winter morning. So in England a winter morning is cold. It’s foggy. It’s dark. And I remember parking my car and rushing through the grounds because it just had this eerie feeling. You know, it’s an old Victorian Building, about 300 years old, you know, with the gargoyles. So you can imagine, you know, you don’t want to be out there on the grounds, you know. So I rushed into the building because there was lighting there.
Sounds like a movie set.
But the reason I remember that day, Charla. It is because there was a young woman who was admitted that day and I just remember the look on her face, the helplessness and the powerlessness that she was struggling with to the point that it had begun to affect her organs, and she was dying, and this young woman was probably in her mid thirties. And I just remember this, and I think when you see so much suffering in someone. You also connect with certain parts of them that you see mirrored within yourself your own suffering, and I remember her desperation, and her story was one where she’d been sexually abused at a young age.
But her helplessness and powerlessness from that experience had basically affected her physical body. It wasn’t just emotional anymore. It wasn’t just mental anymore. It had actually affected her physical body. Because, of course, you know, the emotional body is that connection between the mental body, the mind. and the physical body. And I just remember her helplessness. And that day I sent out a call into the universe. I did not want to spend the next 40 years in a job in a career where I felt I could not help people. And, by the way, I was surrounded by some of the best psychologists and best psychiatrists in the UK. And none of them had been able to help her. That is what I saw. Long story short, within a year, less than a year my husband was offered a position at the University of Arizona.
He’s in cancer research, as I said, and we moved. Of course it took me a while to find my bearings, because my qualifications didn’t transfer over very well, and I could no longer call myself a psychologist in the US. From licensure, there’s so many different hoops to jump through.
But you know what opened up was another part of my life that had been a very private part of my life. I had come from a spiritual family. I had been introduced to meditation and reiki at a young age. and by the time I was 23-22, I was already a Reiki master. But that part of my life had just been a very private part of my life, and so I lived in these 2 very different worlds. That was my professional world and my personal world.
But we landed in Tucson, Arizona, and there were people who were doing research in alternative and complementary medicine and all of a sudden the blinders came off, and these 2 worlds began to collide, and I began to see what was possible. So I began some extensive training, and now I have over 30 years of extensive training in many different complementary and alternative therapies. Everything from reiki to meditation to mindfulness, to hypnotherapy to breath work.
And what actually ended up happening was. And this was such an organic process, although sometimes, when I speak about it, it seems like. It’s a very left brain thing. As these 2 worlds began to collide and I began to talk about, you know, Reiki and meditation. And you know, to people around me. People began to come up to me and say, Can you teach me?
Can you work on me? And at first I thought, I don’t do that.Aand some of them would say, no, no, you are. You are the one who’s going to teach me.
I’m not going anywhere else. You’re the one who’s going to teach me. Well, when that call comes, it’s strong and anyway so that was my coming out of the closet party. And as I began to work on people very organically, things began to unfold. Of course I had a background in mental health. I had come from education and the experience of working in mental health. But now I was able to start integrating these other things in and in the beginning. It was just doing, you know, whether it was reiki or meditation. It wasn’t really on my mind how I begin to integrate these different modalities. But one of my early experiences was with someone who was a psychotherapist with a private practice. and as I worked on her. And it was just this very simple Reiki treatment it was supposed to be, I should say.
He regressed into a past life. and because of my spiritual beliefs and the cultural beliefs I had come from. I knew what was happening, and somehow I was able to guide him and clear the energies. And of course I had no training in this.but I was able to get him through this experience now his story, what he saw was in this past life. It was a tribal situation. He was roped up, his hands and arms were roped up, he was being held, and a group of people were pushing something physical right into his above his heart.
And interestingly, in this lifetime he had an unexplainable physical pain in the same spot that nothing, no, doctor, no, nobody could diagnose what it was. It was unexplainable, and what he came back and shared with me after the work we did was that pain was gone it no longer was there. so I got very excited by this experience, and because I had come from a scientist practitioner background. I was very used to asking many questions. and one of the questions I asked. Of course this is the left brain stuff. One of the questions I asked was, Well, what if I could do this from A to Z.
What if someone came in and they had a particular struggle? And what if that struggle was connected with a past life or several past lives? Could I help them through this? Would they shift? Would they transform the struggle? And what was interesting was I found that I could, because, of course, I was calling up all these friends and people that I knew or had met within the spiritual community and offering them. You know these sessions?
Because I was sort of in a training, but my own private training. And as I began to work with this, I also began to encounter some very heavy energy. and found that I didn’t know didn’t have the tools on. How do you not take it on? How do you stay protected, and clear yourself to where you are not affected, but you can help the other person. So I arrived at a point where I knew I either had to stop doing this work.
Or I needed further training, and what was so interesting was there was a group of healers I was connected with. and one of them had met someone in the Netherlands who knew how to clear heavy energy. and she was organizing for this man to come to the Us. And facilitate some work and some training. So of course, I went along. I got I went through the experience firsts and then got trained. and now I had some additional tools. But of course, as you begin to work with something this new information that begins to come in. so in my hands, it completely changed, and I received new symbols. I received new information and it was almost like being true.
So this is so incredibly intriguing to me, because I believe that she spoke, she asked, and we can and chose to receive these new training. And so I am really intrigued by that, because in this past live thing.
I don’t know if she’s going to be able to hear this but you know I was raised very fundamentally in the in the Christian fundamental world, and all of these what we used to call woo, woo, or we do call, you know. Woo! Woo! Ish things that happen? I was very resistant to, but witnessing.
But I started talking about being raised so fundamentally in the Christian world that all that woo woo stuff was, you know. Oh, you couldn’t even, you know, couldn’t even buy a book about it.
It’s really tricky to me to have been so rigid. And what I’ve what I’ve learned over time is yeah. I witnessed too much to not believe that God doesn’t have a box. You know there’s no box of the Creator. Right? He in my religion is better than your religion, religion to me, and not just to me. But the definition is return to bondage, and so much of our culture has been controlled and limited, who we, who we are, who we think we are, and our and our power. I believe that if God can create it, He can heal it. If we are created, we are able to be healed. And so here we’re in this conversation. That you. I am very intrigued by this.
The energies, and and the past lives, I mean, most people would not even think that most people that I was raised with would think that’s just crazy woo woo stuff. But I’ve witnessed too many places and times and things, and you. So I’m I think that this is amazing.
So you created a system, so to speak, or a technology, so to speak that integrates all of the above, and having honestly the credibility of having the original training, and all of that probably is extraordinarily valuable.

Not just for you, but for the credit for people that to give you credibility right to even listen to this and that poor girl that you just you, I mean, I got chills about her. I just feel like there’s Nope, you know. I know she could have been healed, and I know you do, too. So yeah, so continue with your story.
So you know, it began with exploring past lives. But at some point, you know, and then, being able to clear energies, and with that energy work I ended up developing an energy work that was very unique and different to anything that was out there. Just because of all the information that I was receiving. You know I would receive a little bit of the puzzle, a piece of the puzzle. When I understood it, they would give me another little piece. and I needed to understand not just that piece, but how the 2 fitted together.
And so this journey continued over a period of 15 years, but beyond the energy work I was working because of the background I had come from, it was very, very natural for me to use cognitive interventions. and I was working with essentially memories. past life memories and this lifetime memory. So if there was a memory from childhood or a trauma, you know, I would work with that memory and help the person release it. But at some point it began to transition into working with archetypes.
So parts of the psyche. because there’s so much more that you can do when you work with parts of the psyche to when you’re working with just memories. And that creates bigger shifts. And as I began to get deeper and deeper into this, what I found myself doing was a lot of inner child healing work. And it typically happened in weekend intensives.
So I would have a small group of people, and they would go through in a child intensive, you know, over a 2 and a half day period. and we would journey back to childhood. Deal with the inner child.
Bring that inner child in release. The fear, release the traumas and work through the stuff so that the individual that I was working with would shift and people would experience huge transformations. But 2 things began to happen. One, I noticed that there were people who could connect with their inner child very easily. and there were people who could not, and so, when they could not, it was very surface work. and I.
So I really am glad you bringing this up, because that was my question. I spent a 9 h session with a girl one time. I believe I’m very resistant to hypnotherapy and all of those things. Somehow I seem to not go there. And so I was curious. So you’re bringing that up. That’s amazing.
So what I realized is when people were not able to connect, whether it’s going to hypnotherapy, go into a past life connect with their inner child. It’s because there is a disconnect.
There’s dissociation. And, in fact, when you look at almost every mental health disorder that’s common, I’ll say the common ones. So anxiety disorders, especially even with Ptsd, because that is an anxiety, disorder, mild and moderate depression, dissociative disorders, suicidal ideation. Any form of trauma.
There is always dissociation there. and it’s a coping mechanism, because in that moment of the trauma happening we dissociate as a coping mechanism, as a self-defense mechanism. So it shows up in all of the common mental health disorders. And I realized that until I really understood dissociation and was able to find a way to help people heal that dissociation. There was no way forward for them.
So can you just define dissociation? I’m pretty clear on it. But there may be people that don’t know.
So the way it’s explained in the mental health world is a little bit different to the way that I have come to understand it with the work that I do. So the 2 common ones, and I’ll talk in the language that I am used to speaking, and in the way that I have come to understand it, which may not, may or may not be technically correct when it comes to the mental health, you know so-called categories.
However, you’re the one talking. I want to hear it from you.
Right? And so there’s 2 common ones that I come across. And most I would say, you know, 70-80% of the population has this going on on some level?
Some people it’s more extreme, and for some people it is maybe less extreme, depending on the amount of past trauma depending on childhood, conditioning, cultural conditioning, generational baggage. But the 2 ways in which it shows up is one physical dissociation. So, not being fully in your body and we often hear accounts of people that have gone through very traumatic experiences, where they say they literally felt themselves float out of the body. Right, and it’s not one person who says it. It’s many, many in this.
When that happens, the person is out of the body. and it’s too unsafe to come back. And what needs to happen in that case is all that unsafe programming and the trauma needs to be moved out of the physical body. The physical cells, the emotional body, and the energetic bodies. And then a soul retrieval needs to happen to bring that person back.

The second type of dissociation is extremely common, probably more than 70%. Is emotional dissociation, you know, we have for generations in our society.
We have this where we tell the generation that’s the next generation and the next generation, and we pass it down the generations. And we say, “don’t behave that way. Don’t say that. Don’t feel that way. You’re not allowed to express anger. How dare you say that? How dare you feel that?”
So what we learn from a very, very young age is that our emotions are inappropriate. that our emotions are not okay for us to feel. Now, you know, there was a humanistic psychologist by the name of Carl Rogers, and what he found is that with the clients that he was working with is that people give up their authenticity, give away parts of themselves, give up parts of themselves as children, as very young children. for the love and acceptance of their caregivers because their survival depends on it.
I get that so much.
Where it begins. This is where it begins, and so we shut our emotions away. We hide them, repress them, suppress them, push them away.
And because we do that we cannot connect with the inner child, we cannot connect with the emotions of that inner child and the suffering of the inner child. When it has it, it was forced, or it had to give up parts of itself. It had to give away parts of itself.
Because it was the only way it perceived that it could survive by having some love and acceptance of the caregivers. And it’s so traumatic, you know, even though it seems like these are little things, but in the mind-body matrix they register as little traumas. So so much of the work that I do is really around trauma resolution. Anytime we give away or give up a part of ourselves that registers in the mind-body matrix as a trauma.
We think of trauma as something that’s devastating that happened to us, you know. If somebody says, you know. Oh, I was in a car accident, you know, or I was sexually abused. We think that is what trauma is. But think about this anytime we give away a part of ourselves, our authentic self. or we hide it because it’s inappropriate to express it.
It registers as a trauma in the mind-body matrix. So this is how I summarize dissociation. And this is the work that we end up doing? You know I I have a client right now who’s working with me? We’ve maybe done about 4 sessions. When she first came to me, she said to me, you know my life is good. I have everything except for one thing.
That’s the struggle in her life is she wants a partner, the perfect partner. And that’s the one thing she can’t have. You know, she’s gone through divorce, and she’s had failed relationships. And it seems like relationships just don’t work out. This lady has been on the spiritual path for 27-28 years.
She has her list of different modalities that she’s worked with is as long as my arm, Charla. She has done the conventional therapy. She’s done many, many holistic modalities, and yet The one thing that she wants, and she understands her story.
She understands why she’s attracting this. You know that her father was absent. Her parents were divorced. Her mother was the breadwinner, you know she understands how she’s recreated that in with, you know, but she’s not able to get out of it. And in our very 1st session together.
Because it’s healing is when it’s done in a very systematic way, because you know how to help a person move through those layers of the onion. You know how to get to that very next layer. And this is what energy-based psychotherapy is. It’s a very systematic way of finding the next layer and the next layer and the next layer, and literally just peeling it off. Is there.
Anyway, in the beginning, in the very beginning. Do you have any clue? How many layers you’re going to have to get through just as I mean.
We’re also, we’re all so different. Right?
Yeah.
Most with dissociation. What I have found is typically, you know, it’s 6 to 8 sessions is what it takes to move through dissociation. But that’s not a lifetime of diagnosis. So that’s a very short period of time. Yes.
I’m so grateful that you have that. And before we go there’s so much I want to know. But I want you to. How do people find you? How do they spell your name? All of those things? Let’s just get that out because I don’t want to forget at the end.
Absolutely. Yes, my name is Meera Jain. M E E R A. J A I N, and if they go yeah, if they go to https://www.meerajain.com/ if they that I have an authenticity assessment quiz on my website. If they fill that out, they get on my mailing list, and you know it’s free to do the assessment. And
Authenticity says that again, authenticity, assessment like, how authentic are you.
Whereas they will get a I think it’s a 29 page report which identifies their authenticity. Archetype and I have a number of different authenticity archetypes, and so depending on you know what your struggles are, and how much work you have done where you are in your journey. You know you’ll get a report that tells you all of that shares all that information with you. And so that’s a really good place to start. And then, you know, just look out for what I you know what you’re guided to as I offer it.
I’m very, very intrigued. I think you’ve got a 29 Page report, man. So how hard is the assessment itself? Is that fairly simple?
Very simple. It’s on a 5 point scale. It’s very simple. 5 min. Yeah, just a quiz. Right? Just a quiz a simple quiz. but I’ve had very good feedback. I designed that myself, and I’ve had very good feedback people telling me that it’s very accurate.
My goodness, okay, so we anything that you really want to get told we’ve got, you know, 20 min left. Basically, it goes so fast. So.
Good.
But you. We talked ahead of time, and you were saying that you know. I believe that our systems, our our healthcare systems, is not, are not designed to keep us healthy. I think it’s more designed to keep us in the system in my estimation, and that you have.
Because you were in the system, so to speak, the healthcare system, the mental health care system. And you stepped. You’re integrating it. That’s the key. And you are finding that a lot of physicians, I believe there’s a lot of physicians. I believe most healthcare people, nurses, doctors go in with the idea that they want to serve people and help people.
And especially in the last 4 or 5 years, you know, we just noticed that not everything is as it seems. And so you are working with doctors. I believe right now with doctors literally that are wanting to step into this integrated methodology methodology.
So I have a partnership with Physician Transformation Institute, which is founded and run by Dr. Chang Ruan, who is also the CEO of the Texas Center for Lifestyle Medicine. And so one of the things that most people don’t know is that physicians actually have a very, very high rate of suicide. anxiety, stress, and a lot of it is because of the system. you know, even if they go into medicine to make a difference, they are basically being dictated to by administrators and hospitals and insurance companies. And it causes a lot of stress and so.
I don’t. I believe the insurance companies run the world. And I mean, I just really, it’s really an issue for most practitioners. and me and most of us in the United States especially, I guess.
And and so with this integrative approach that I have developed, the opportunity came up to work with physicians who are struggling with anxiety and depression, and ne of the common mental health disorders and help them transform their mental health. And so that is some of the work that I do with physicians and mental health care practitioners. I want to talk a little bit about what integrative mental health is, Charla, because I think that’s really important.
And you do work online or or strictly in person.
Most of my work currently is in person. I have run programs online, and I am in the process of relaunching a membership where people can access a lot of my knowledge and information. Self-knowledge is the best thing you know, through this membership. But it’s coming back to what integrative mental health is. We’re not doing away with traditional medicine, with traditional mental health. Here, integrative means a way to integrate.
Now, the reason why traditional medicine has made such great, amazing developments in the last 300 years is because it only looked at what was observable and what was measurable, however. It didn’t see anything beyond the physical body. So when we, when we look at it from that point of view, we’re no more than robots. We’re just a sum total of our parts.
But we know that we are so much more than just a physical body. We’re also emotional beings. We’re also mental beings. And we have. We’re also spiritual beings with several energy bodies. and so integrated really means is to look at what it means to be human from a much broader perspective. a much more holistic perspective. And it’s not to do away with tradition. It’s about integrating
what is traditional with what is modern. What is holistic? You know, and doing it in such a way? Because there is some stuff out there in the crazy woo woo world that is truly crazy. And so we have to have that discernment of not, you know, saying, Oh, but that’s real, because if it’s not real, it’s not real.
And so we still do need to say, you know, we will run efficacy studies. We will do research. You know, we need to have data to show that something works and that something doesn’t work. There isn’t enough efficacy to support it. I think that’s essential not to take things just at face value is to ask a lot of questions.
Makes that makes so much sense. So yeah, there’s discernment. I believe we all have that small inner gut feeling voice inside of us that so often is ignored, or so often is distracted. We don’t have take time to listen to our still small voices. That’s why I do that little breathing exercise 22 seconds, just to give yourself a second to be still and know, you know, so discernment is huge, and you’ve mentioned that word as well.
Yeah, what other questions do you have, Charla?
Well, what is you did you mentioned someone you were working with? Maybe a doctor that you were working with? You were wanting to kind of explain. Or maybe it’s an example of what you’re talking about.
Yes, it’s okay. So you know, I started my story with you know, this woman who had sexual abuse in her childhood, and who, you know it basically began her helplessness and hopelessness began to affect her physiology to the point where she was dying. Her organs were giving up.
A few years ago I had a client. We had moved through dissociation. You know we were doing some inner child work, and what came up was very repressed. Sexual abuse from childhood. So we were. I was able to move her through that in 2 sessions.
2, wow.
Because when that dissociation is healed, and you connect the individual, the client, with that part of themselves that is the suffering part. It does not take long for the transformation to happen.
Wow! So what was the result of that? How I mean, did she did she? She recognized it, and...
She was a woman in her fifties, and she came in. She said, you know I’m married. I have a good marriage. My kids are grown up, you know. A house is paid off. Have a pretty good life, but I’ve been feeling depressed. That was what we were working on.
We’d moved through the dissociation. We were trying to do some inner child work. And then these memories start to surface and she does not want to look at them, because when it happened, everybody told it didn’t happen. Don’t focus on it, push it away, hide it, repress it. Nobody wants to talk about it, nobody wants to know.
And so, when it began to come up, she did not want to look at it. She did not want to acknowledge it, you know, but helping her to actually accept that and move through it. and we did it in 2 sessions. Now here’s the thing that was at the root of the depression. So once we move through that trauma, the depression shifted.
She was able to start feeling joy and freedom and happiness and contentment with her own. She knew she had everything she needed right so, and I do believe that the there’s the sexual trauma from in childhood is abhorrent, and I believe it’s probably much more prevalent than even what the stats say.
Probably that because we don’t she would not. She wouldn’t have said she had it, you know she had forgotten it, or chosen to suppress it. So I think that.
Because it’s so inappropriate in our culture to acknowledge something like that.
Well, it’s so inappropriate to that. It happens, that’s and then it’s, you know. Then we can’t talk about it, because oh, but that’s he’s such a nice guy, you know, or whatever, and it goes deep that had that particular topic. And if you can find a way where she was.
She had repressed it so much, and then she had no idea that that was the undercurrent. And her whole life was, you know, everything’s fine. Everything’s fine. Actually, you’re talking this, the is this all there is is a lot of the terms. I believe that this 55, 50 year old person this kind of my target audience, you know, who is that all there is? What’s next? How can I make a difference in the world? Is there something else I want to do. and getting through getting past that where she’s like. wow! I have joy, I freedom. I don’t. I can’t even imagine.
Again. You know I can be present. I don’t have to feel sad, you know. I don’t know where the sadness is coming from, but then it shifts, and you don’t have it. You can actually live life.
That’s amazing. So yeah. So she’s when you say 2 sessions. So she’s not. I mean, you don’t. You’re not looking for lifetime clients like some, you know, laying on the couch type of things. 10 years later, you’re still talking about what’s past. So.
No.
That’s the difference almost in coaching and and therapy is like a therapist wants to focus and continue to talk about what went wrong. And you know a coach, or those of us that are like, let’s figure out what’s going on. And how can we live a life of joy and freedom and optimism and contentment. They! And leave a legacy of those things. That’s a lot of what I talk about. So I’m extremely excited to know that you’ve created this. Now, are you training other people to do it? Are you just being, is there? Certainly it’s got to expand.
Yes, I have plans to train other people. I am currently not doing that, but I will start to do that in the near future. My hope is to be able to train healthcare professionals, and this is something that I can put into their hands.
so that they have this tool to share with other people. And that’s and one of the reasons is, you know, a lot of healthcare professionals are very familiar with ethics, and that is so important when it comes to this kind of work is to understand ethics, to understand morality, to stay in your integrity.
Exactly. Oh, my gosh, yes, absolutely. Integrity is the highest. I mean, it means honoring your word. It’s the highest value there is, and understanding their values and not compromising. So that’s where we talked about Alan Mikely man. He’s a that’s him.
Yeah Exactly Yes.
I think it’s critical that this expands. And so I think it’s a great idea to you’re already working with physicians and letting them in on and helping them so they can help others. And because it’s a new modality, so to speak, right and mindset is a huge topic these days. And you know, we’ve got the brain research that have proven so much with Dr. Joe Dispense and Bruce Lipton and Greg Braden. Those brain research people that are out there. And then we’ve got.
you know, people that are talking about shame. And we’re talking so all of these things. It’s like. It’s like the right place at the right time to get this out there and serve our communities, our humanity too.
We live in joy. I mean, I think there’s so many, and I call it a spirit of offense. But you know, quit taking things personally, and the 4 agreements. Where’s my book the 4 agreements about not taking things personally and not making assumptions, and not being impeccable with your word. and always doing your best. Those are 4 agreements. And what happens if we start.you know, not taking everything personally, not having to be offended by everything, and and.
When we have triggers, we have to understand that the triggers are inside of us, and they often come from a wounded place. and so when we are triggered, we need to go back to that wounded place and look at that wounded place and heal that as opposed to what we typically do, which is to point the finger at somebody else.
Much so true. The blame game, you know, and I have one a lot of my sayings. I say them almost every week, but it’s like unconditional love, unconditional forgiveness, not unconditional boundaries. Right? So we and another. I always add to that. And the harder people are to love, the more they need it. So you’re the one trying to find out how they can. This is the deal. People don’t love themselves enough.
To love others, and that’s and you’re digging out the root cause of why people don’t love themselves enough to be able to treat and love others in a healthy way.
Absolutely. That’s a different way of putting it.
But I mean it’s that’s kind of my thing. So you said something about no matter what you’re struggling with, and no matter how deep your pain is. It’s possible to find and reclaim your passion, purpose and potential and love that I’m just kind of glancing at my notes. We’ve got.
I really do believe that I think it doesn’t matter what we are struggling with. It does not matter how deep our pain runs. I just want everyone to know it is possible to heal. It’s possible to reclaim our joy, our freedom, our purpose, our potential.
Those are the things that are possible.
I just you just offering so much hope. Here we are talking. My whole thing is about overcoming and hope, and and you have a quote. You like that is, be the change you want to see, and that wish to see in the world. But you also did you write. This integrative mental health is the only future that can eradicate all mental health struggles into freedom and joy, that I saw that meme somewhere, and and I believe you wrote that, and your whole passion is about being fearlessly authentic, and we haven’t talked a lot about the authenticity piece of it. But authenticity. I say it. A lot, too, is it’s the new sexy. People don’t want fake anymore. We want real. And so when you can unlock your full potential by transforming anxieties into freedom and joy. That’s an you know. And I found this quote I somewhere in some of your stuff you can never.
I mean you can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation. That’s Plato wrote that back in the day, right? So.
I think fun is missing. I think we’re so engaged in our stuff, and we think we’re having fun because we’re playing games, or you know, whatever it is. But do, are we having fun? Are we just just killing time? Right? So you know.
It’s a symptom of dissociation.
And who doesn’t have it these days. We’re all walking around.
This is not the problem. The problem is dissociation. And this, this is a symptom. That’s how dissociated people.
And I believe it’s also becoming almost a habit. I mean, it’s a habit, too. I mean, once you get started that, then you, you, there’s you can’t get to the bottom of the list of things they want you to watch, you know. I mean, it just keeps showing up, and so there, there’s a there’s.
Connects us from what’s around us, right? It disconnects us from the present moment. It disconnects us from being here in our body. It disconnects us from the people who are around us.
And it’s like, Ha! Ha! Look at this ha-ha! And we’re all you know. We engage the next person into these, these. It’s not that they’re bad or wrong. It’s just that there’s so much of it, and we’re not present in our and our little lives. So I have a 3 year old granddaughter that I truly she’s brilliant, and I’m not saying that as a grandma so much, but she truly had is so incredibly smart and coordinated, and all kinds of things, and I want her to.
you know, not have these things. And so when you talk about your target market. What you’re you’re not talking about that age group, but I want to know. Well, how can we continue to encourage her expressions to? I think she’ll be on stages speaking with me in the next. She’s 3, so I think in 5 years, 4 or 5 years she’ll be out there traveling with me. I think she’s got a gift, and I know it’s because of me, right? My brilliance. But so actually, she’s just. She’s just.
Own it? Why not special.
You know. And why not? Why not? I would show you the picture of her if I could, on my phone, anyway. So she’s. I want to encourage that type of understanding that your feelings are. There’s nothing wrong with your feelings. It’s how you handle them right. The feelings are not right or wrong, it’s how you handle them that matters. And so we’re down to the last 2 min. Is there any last words you want to say?
Yeah, close.
I want to expand on the feelings. Bit, you know. So oftentimes we don’t know how to process through our emotions. because emotions are energy in motion. That word. It literally is tiny, tiny little molecules that are physiological. And this is backed by research, by Candace Pert, who was a neurophysiologist. and When we experience negative emotions, there are tiny, tiny little molecules that are released in our bodies and over time they will manifest as something physiological, like a disease like an illness.
So when we do experience these negative emotions, if we have the understanding that they’re coming from a past wound. We need to learn techniques to actually process through those emotions and release them from the physical body. And that is something that we are not taught. So that’s 1 of the things that I do teach my clients, my students, is, how do we become aware of ourselves? How do we stay within our body? How do we acknowledge what’s coming up? How do we process through it and release it?
