Introduction

Good, beautiful day, beautiful, beautiful souls! This is Charla Anderson, host of the Charla Anderson Show~Collector & Connector of Fascinating People (& EVERYONE is Fascinating!), especially you.

When life’s storms hit, divorce or loss or change, faith can be the anchor that holds you steady. Crystal Shelton, founder of Real Life Visions, shares how trusting God through heartbreak and transition can restore peace, renew purpose, and reveal the strength you didn’t know you had.

…BUT FIRST…

We’re gonna take a 22-second mini vacation, a little breathing exercise. We’re gonna breathe in calm for seven seconds, hold for four seconds, and breathe out gratitude for 11 seconds. So here, join me in breathing in the calm. Here we go. hold relax release thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you .

Crystal, so excited to have you here today with me. This is so awesome and we are both in book number 21 of the Change the book series.

By the way, the Change isn’t available on Amazon. So I don’t think people realize that if you go looking for it, you can contact one of us and we’ll get to you.

It’s a really great compilation. And the way we met because of it is because every week, every month, there’s a mastermind that is phenomenal with Jim Lutz and Jim Britt. And you contact one of us if you want to either be in a book like that, or if you want to read the amazing stories in that book about 20 authors, I believe, right? It’s one of the it’s a credibility piece that I felt very fun. It was fun to do.

Absolutely. Yeah, sure. I’m super excited to be here. And I am so grateful to, to come with you on this journey, you know, a place that we didn’t even know we were. And here we are back together.

It’s beautiful. I know. We didn’t realize we were in the same book because, you know, I think they’re building book 24 or 25 now. So it’s pretty cool. Anyway, so we’re going to get to know Crystal. She founded Real Life Vision. So let’s tell us who you are in this world, girlfriend. All right. Well, then we’ll talk about what you do.

You bet. You bet. Well, I’m 52. I was born and raised in Washington State. spend a little time out in the world in other areas, specifically California, I have two kids and one is mentally ill living on the streets of Seattle, so I’ve been divorced twice, I am now on my third marriage and I am in a better relationship than I’ve ever, that I think I’ve ever seen in other people. So I am very grateful. And I learned so much through those times. And I’ve dealt with a lot of heartbreak, hurt, and I know how to move through that. And what’s been really fun is that it was about two years ago, I heard the voice of God. Actually, He says, go back to church. And I’m looking at my husband going, what? What are you talking about? And I heard the voice again, go back to church. And I’m like, well, I guess I’m going back to church, because God says so much. The voice is telling me, go back to church. So I’m going. And from that point on, there’s been this beautiful path of learning, growing, playing bass in the church, becoming the worship team in our local church here, and now working with Christian women. It’s just, I’m so honored and so grateful.

Well, so one of the things that you do is primarily, I believe, right now you’ve shifted, you said, and working with Christian women who’ve been through divorce.

Right.

Well, I’ve got two divorces behind me. I’ve, you know, been there, done that, got the t-shirts right and all that. And one was 17 years, one was 18 years. They were long, fairly long. And my mother got divorced when they had been married 21 years. I was six years old. My parents got divorced. And in a, you know, small church, there’s something called, we were just talking before the show, church hurt. My mom got remarried, and they used her as an example. I used them as an example and disfellowshipped my parents when I was a teenager or 12 years old or something and it was just awful it was awful and she’s the you know the best person on earth I mean she just was you know just very and became the example. And, you know, that’s not a good thing.

Absolutely. Yeah, there’s, I think there’s a lot of churches that don’t have or don’t understand the empathy of Jesus. Where, you know, Jesus was the one who went to the Samaritan woman Who, you know, asking her for water and really connected and she’s like, wait, I’ve been divorced, you know, and he says, you know, I know you’re living with this guy and you’ve been divorced five times. that you’re still a child of God. And it makes me just tingle everywhere with the Holy Spirit, just even thinking about that. Knowing that although we’ve been through some of these challenges, and we’ve been hurt, and in the eyes of, a lot of times, the church, it’s, oh, you’ve done these bad things, but really, to come back to Christ with repentance and understanding that there’s even more, even more than what they teach. You know, we get taught little bits and pieces generally.

Usually it’s like, oh, there’s this bit little thing here and you’re supposed to learn how to live life by this. Well, you know, this was 3000 years ago. This was an example. And then we get to take that example and bring it into who we are today and what we’re becoming as not only people, but also as society. And as we are growing and learning in our own governments and all the others, I don’t wanna get into all that, but it’s just, it’s so fascinating where everything’s going.

We’re very similar in our thoughts. If God is love, he can’t be not love. If God is love, he can’t be not love. If he loves you, no matter what. He loves you if you’re in the gutter. He loves you if you’re a murderer. He loves you. God is love. He can’t be not love. And sometimes religion has taught us that God is in a box. All this, he’s a, he’s a, he’s a mean old, you know, mean old God sitting down, you know, judging you all the time. Well, God loves you. There’s nothing you can do to be loved more or less by God.

Absolutely.

And I feel like that’s part of your message. And I saw, you know, you talk about the I am, I talk about I am, every word matters, every word matters. And when you, whatever you say after I am, is the God in you. That’s God’s name you’re talking about. And we’re very flippant and, and, you know, not very kind to ourselves with our words so often. And we curse ourselves. And so whatever you say after I am is hugely important. And if you continue saying it, it’s who you are in that moment. And it’s who you’re becoming if you repeat it. So our words, every word matters. My book, Split Second Transformation, Change Your Words, Change Your Life, 31 Daily Practices. Yeah, every word matters.

It sure does. It makes a big difference. And we don’t, you know, listening, it’s so casual. Our language is just so casual. And we’re not really thinking. And we’re creating our future by what we say.

Absolutely. You know, I caught myself just last night. They’re having the auroras right now all over the place. We can see them in Texas. Oh my goodness gracious, that’s amazing. Well, I looked out my back window, my window in my second story where I am right now, and I’m looking out and I’m like, oh, hey, there’s red in the sky. I’m going to go see where we have more view, where we have more sky. And so I drove down the road, went over the hill, went, I’m all excited, and I know I can’t see any stars, but I’m all excited because maybe I’m going to get to see it, right? And I get out to where, and all I can see, I can see this light in the sky moving. The light’s actually in the sky moving, like the moon is moving everywhere, right? Is what it looked like, but I couldn’t see any colors. because we had so much cloud cover that all you could see was the light on the other side of the clouds. And I’m like, well, dang.

I mean, I can see it, sort of, but not really. And there was a moment where it was like, well, how come this always happens to me? How come I never see the lights? How come I always happen to miss it? And by the time I got, well, I caught myself in that moment. And I went, okay, there’s something different here. And by the time I got home, my husband says, hey, how’d it go? And I said, well, I saw the lights in the sky, it was cool, many clouds, so I didn’t get to see the colors, but that tells me that there’s some time in the future where I’m gonna see the brilliant lights, it’s gonna be worth the wait.

Love it, love it, love it, when you can catch yourself. See, I love, I don’t mind being called out. People are going, well, you just said, and I’m like, thank you, thank you. Cancel, cancel, cancel. You know, this job is killing me. No, no, no.

Cancel, cancel, don’t. You know, whatever, whatever our words are. So that’s beautiful. And bringing up the lights, I heard, I’ve seen beautiful pictures today from Texas, from all over Denver. Oh my goodness, Colorado, my son. And they’re just brilliant reds and all this beautiful color. And tonight there’s also apparently a meteor shower and several things converging. This is Wednesday. We might as well say the date because people in the future won’t. Nobody’s listening live right now. So it’s Wednesday, November 12th, 2025, the day after our Special Veterans Day yesterday. Anyway, we’re, the Northern Lights called Aurora Borealis or something, I think, so anyway.

So they are stunning and striking and beautiful, and it’s exciting to get to witness that, especially so far down, even almost through the Northern Texas, you can see, you know, really well, and then I believe even further down, Southern Texas, Southern United States is able to see them too. So it’s pretty fun.

Navigating Faith Through Life’s Storms with Crystal Sheldon

Yeah. So cool. Yeah. I saw one from, um, from I think Denver and it was like, I’m in my bed and it’s red. That’d be so cool. One day.

Yes.

So, and I think it’s clear here. So that’s helpful too. But anyway, I mean, we are, I’m outrageously optimistic. So that’s my, I say that, all the time. Every word matters. But I call myself, I am outrageously optimistic that our world is getting better, not worse. I don’t, I mean, I know what’s going on out there. I don’t watch TV, but I know what’s going on. And it seems so chaotic.

But it’s

not chaotic in my, my little life, my life right here, because I just don’t I don’t let it, you know. And then, you know, so when you say, who I am is bold faith, no fear. And I said, who I am is bold faith, no fear for so many years. I am, and you won’t, what if we could learn not to say anything after I am that you wouldn’t say about God, because that is the God in you, right? So His name. And when I got robbed at gunpoint and had a gun in my head, and I stepped towards the gun and said, y’all need love, and they ran, and I had no fear. And the reason is because who I say I am is well-faithed, no fear, and had for so many years. So, you know, I believe that that was kind of the test, right, a test,

so. That’s amazing. I’ve, I’ve, I’ve been through the same, had forgotten about it until now. But yeah, it’s, it’s amazing the things that we do in those crisis kind of situations. And, you know, we just are who we are in that moment. And then it’s usually after the fact that we go, wait, what did we what did I just do? Yeah, yeah, and I think when we’re going through really any kind of situation that is tough and traumatic, or even like you see a deer on the side of the road, but it’s at the last second, so you couldn’t have stopped even if you had tried. And I think it’s in that moment that we are always, bringing that faith over the fear, you know, the storms are always going to happen. But the faith holds us steady. It keeps us, always keeps us steady in that storm.

So that brings us back, this faith to get us through. So I want to, on your website, I was looking and one is the people you help that are going, that are When you go through a divorce one way or the other or any hard time, a hard separation or transition, there is often a sense of loss and you’ve changed your whole, how you’re helping people, women primarily, Christian women primarily, I’m pretty sure, get through some of this. But this is what one of your Testimony said our session left me feeling so open so free and so abundant My spirit hasn’t felt that way that open energized and radiant Well ever it says well ever, you know now so something you’re gifted to be able to help women see or people see the Their beauty the that they are perfect exactly who and where they are. There’s nothing else they can do to be loved more or less by God. So that’s a very high compliment when you get those kind of testimonies.

Yes, I remember. I believe that was Rachel. And she was such an amazing, amazing woman and very stressed and not knowing where she was going in life. And then when we had one of our first sessions, it was just like she opened up, she was so closed, and I don’t wanna say scared, but there were a lot of things inside. And as we dug through and helped her bring peace in some of these situations, then all of a sudden it was like, the Holy Spirit could actually move through again. And it was just beautiful, loving, such an amazing experience. And that’s what I love to bring to people in their lives.

How do you, how are people finding you in order to do that? You said you pivoted from a corporate world more to the, and I know, I’m not a big fan of religion, but I love the relationship, because religion didn’t teach me about relationship with God, so. Absolutely. I just, I love, love, love that God is love, and he can’t be not love, so.

Yeah, I guess he would, one would say that I was a bit more into the woo and the spiritual beyond God on the other side. And then when I heard the voice, it brought me back. And I went, oh wait. And then the other things shifted. The other things that I didn’t understand shifted. And I went from, gosh, a lot of energetic work, to all of a sudden I realized the Holy Spirit is my connection. And it’s always been my connection. There were many times where I would, I’d be like, oh, I’m really interested in this, this tool. And what, how does this fit into all the other things? And then I would learn it and I’d be like, well, this is really interesting. And then something deep within me would go, this isn’t right. There’s something not connecting here. And as I’ve learned about different spiritual avenues and then reconnecting with the Holy Spirit, it’s been really fascinating how it’s shifted because now I know that some of these things that portray as good or faithful could be something a little different though, we just don’t understand. So a lot of times when, well, whenever I do a session working with someone, I always pray before and just really focus on, like you said, that relationship.

Because I too, I was burned by religion. My dad was a pastor. I was like, I’ve seen what happens here. And my dad even told me, he says, you know, well, how come you don’t go to church? You know, church is like a hospital for the spiritual. And I said, well, I’ve seen how two-faced these people are. You know, you go to church, everything’s all happy, lucky, you know, all good. And then you see them in real life, And they are not at all like that. And authenticity is really important to me.

Authenticity is the new sexy, yes. Totally, totally, totally. And yeah, hypocrisy, that’s one reason a lot of people don’t go to church. And I believe they’re hurt too, right? So hurt people, hurt people, and just trying to, you know, they’re screaming at their kids the whole way to get on the way to church. You know, so.

So it’s been really fun to be a part of the church more, to learn and connect and to grow in the Spirit. Now, I’m a part of the church, and I help people grow in the church now, and I bring an instigation to the Holy Spirit through music. And I’m very grateful I’ve been handed this gift, which has been beautiful. But really, like you said, we are all hurt in some ways. And when we find that there are other ways than going around telling ourselves how awful we are. I mean, we would never, ever say that about somebody else. We’d talk to our kids and we would say, oh honey, it’s okay. You get to learn from the situation, you’ll be better. And the next time you’ll know what to do so that you don’t feel so bad. We would have these kinds of conversations. But what we do to ourselves a lot of times is like, oh, well, Crystal, you’re such a blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And then like you were talking about, you gotta go back and go, no, cancel, cancel. I didn’t mean that.

I did not mean that. Okay, how can I make this up? Because it really does affect not only who we are feeling like who we are right now, but as we move forward, we’re creating. in every moment. And we don’t realize that. It’s so easy to get back into the habit of what we see in society. You know, watch any TV show, and you see what they’re training, you know, how they’re training us to teach you to treat each other. And it usually comes back on ourselves first.

Yeah, that’s, um, I gave up. In seventh and eighth grade, I got addicted to soap operas, and I didn’t think I could go back to school. And then the next summer, I was like, they’re still talking about the same thing. I was like, Dr. Hardy and Jessie, oh my gosh, how are they going to live without me? I can’t go back to school. And then I swore I’d never be addicted to television. Yeah. And that’s from I’m 72 this month. And that’s like a lot of years ago. So I’ve watched probably less than the vast majority of people. Not that I don’t ever watch it or haven’t ever watched it much. But it’s just not. I don’t find much really saving grace and watching it. It’s a lot of fear, a lot of confusion, a lot of comparison.

Absolutely

divisiveness.

Yeah, especially when you look at what they are called, the supposed to be like live reality? Oh reality like

My friends are out in the in the jungle of Africa eating worms and snakes with cameras watching them. Right

They’re starving, you know. It’s just, it’s odd.

It’s how bad can we be? I call it the spirit of offense. How offended can we get? It’s silly. It’s just silly.

Yeah, I agree. I think, though, a lot of us who watch them for entertainment, it’s much like I am in that everything that we put into our minds becomes a part of who we are. They say that the five people you hang around the most are who you’re going to be like. So do you want to be like your friend who’s telling everybody how she’s such a victim and she can’t do all these things and she’s complaining constantly? Or do we want to be around the people who are going to lift not only themselves up, but lift us up? and into a group where we’re all lifting each other up, because when we do that, all boats rise with the tide. Exactly.

Yeah, who I don’t want to be around the negative people. When I call myself outrageously optimistic, and I hear, well, you’re just a polygon. That’s not reality. I’m going, well, it’s my reality. Yeah, yeah. And I’d rather have my reality of being happy and upbeat and lifting people up and letting my light shine, as any everywhere I go, you know, that’s my, my be Jesus with skin on, right? So when we can do that, why wouldn’t we? Why wouldn’t we?

Absolutely, you

know, so being around this Pollyanna thing, yeah, I’m like, well, at least I’m not complaining and complaining and complaining. You know, cynical, you know, no, not for

me. You know, when we’ve been on one side, when we’ve been on that fence, you know, on the side of the fence of stress, anxiety, unsure of ourselves, complaining, victim, you know. And then we jump over to the side of the fence of like, OK, you know what? I’m gonna rewrite who I am. And once we do that, there is no going back. There really isn’t. And if I could, if I could inspire just one person to think about what they are doing in their own lives that’s really self-sabotaging every single day, that is kind of, that’s my goal in life. I want to see people bringing that lighthouse into their lives. Have you ever been on one of those cave tours? And you go deep down in the cave, and it’s really dark, and then they go, oh, well, we’re gonna show you something really cool. And they turn off all the lights, right?

No, it’s really dark, because there are no lights. And that’s what it feels like we have in life sometimes, especially during the big time storms. And all it takes is lighting a match or lighting a lighter. And what does that one little match do? It spreads light everywhere. Permeates the darkness totally. So as we are that one little light, then that light spreads. into others. And it grows. And it becomes the part of life where we just go, okay, I feel like there’s a reason for me being here now. You know,

finding a purpose. And yeah, and I think, and my other little book, I’m always, I’m always talking about these little this tiny, tiny book, big message candy bar hugs, it doesn’t take much to make a difference. It’s a pay it forward type book. And I quote from it all the time, unconditional love, unconditional forgiveness, not unconditional boundaries, which I added to that I felt was very important. And the harder people are to love, the more they need it.

Navigating Faith Through Life’s Storms with Crystal Sheldon

So

that’s a lesson. I say it often, bullies are victims too. It doesn’t mean we need to not have boundaries. It doesn’t mean we need to receive it. We don’t have to read. I tell my grandkids, I was telling them, you know, nobody can hurt your feelings without your permission. Nobody can make you upset and angry without your permission. You get, you know, you can let it bounce back to them if you start. That’s a practice, right? That’s the practice. So on your website is reallifevisions.com. We’ll just make sure we get that out there, reallifevisions.com, right?

And Crystal

is C-R-Y-S-T-A-L Shelton.

So

I wanted to, I looked at something on your website, and you have sessions for tuning forks, right? I sure do. Yes. I want to show you what I have. You got it. Look, this is a Crystal. If you can see it or not. Oh, a Crystal tuning fork. And I had not it’s just been down there. I have not opened this little pretty little box in a really long time. Yeah, I saw that. And can you What can you do with that, that you find is healing? And we shifted, we kind of shift directions here all

of a sudden. Oh, absolutely. It’s beautiful because the tuning forks are really interesting and our bodies are of course energetic. You know, we know that our heart and all of the things in our body, all of the organs, have an electrical piece to them. So that’s why they can take the, what are they called, when they go under your heart and they go, ba-bum, and it’ll restart your heart, right? Because it’s all electrical. Well, electricity is a form of vibration. And what happens is when things happen in our lives, then it creates this little imbalance in our bodies and in our systems. So our Holy Spirit, which is right here, some people call it an aura, but it’s really our energetic body. That’s where we feel the Holy Spirit. That’s when we feel other people that are close by to us. That’s when we feel like, oh my gosh, I feel like my son is thinking about me. It’s all very holy. And what happens is when these imbalances happen in our field and in our body, the tuning forks bring them back to coherence. So when the imbalances happen, that would be something, it’s almost like imagine we’ve got clear space and then it gets really fuzzy. You know, and it feels fuzzy.

That’s what happens with the tuning forks. So when we’re using an audible tuning fork. This is a 174, and it’s a 174 hertz, and this is biofield tuning, and what happens is I can go through our energetic field, and I can feel and hear the dissonance. And what happens is we will, when the tuning forks go through the field, and we comb through, everything comes back into coherence again. And things can change. For instance, there are areas in our biofield that have to do with different pains and different parts in our body, different organs. And when some of this dissonance gets cleared and come back to coherence, interesting things happen. That’s beautiful.

So most people listen and don’t watch, right? So they can’t see these tuning forks when we’re doing this. But this, I had ordered it and never really knew much what to do with it. So are you able to do that now, like live and do something with the tuning fork? You know what to do? What would you do?

Okay, I’m just going to take a second. Dear Lord, just anything that comes through me and comes to the people moving into this group, everybody listening, brings them joy and peace and comes through you, your Holy Spirit. Amen. Okay. So I’m going to take this tuning fork and I’m going to just come through and see what happens in the field. Now see, can you hear it, how it changes when it gets to this certain point?

Are you, whose field are you testing or how? Everybody

who’s listening.

Anybody who’s listening right now, yeah. Or will be listening in the future even.

Anybody who’s listening right now and anybody who will be listening in the future. It’s like a, it’s almost an energetic group thing. But it’s through God. You’ll see at first, it was dissonant right in here. And now I’m moving closer to the center.

What are you hitting it with or how is it? Do you have?

Tuning fork. This is a hockey puck. Actually, from Canada, a Canadian hockey puck, and you hit it like this, about two, about an inch and a half to two inches below the end of the fork. And as we go through it, through the field, it goes and then we kind of just put it all into the head.

Interesting hockey puck, interesting. Because I would, I don’t know what to say. I’m not sure you’d want to do it with a hockey puck. If I, I was thinking, I was trying to find something that I could actually hit it with that would maybe, how about a pin? We’ll see.

Can you hear it?

Uh-huh. Should you hear it? Let me try again.

I don’t hear anything. I

don’t hear anything.

Huh. Yeah, you might have the, sometimes the Zoom, if you have it on different sounds, then it will tune out the tuning forks, and you won’t actually be able to hear the tuning forks.

I’m touching it to the microphone, so.

Yeah, I still can’t hear it.

Wow. Yeah.

Zoom is really good about filtering out these sounds that we don’t want. Until we want them. Exactly. And what these sessions can do, they can do things from helping you move through anxiety, as in releasing the anxiety completely. of whatever the situation is. It can help with a lot of trauma situations, past situations of hurt, divorce, heartache, dealing with situations with mom, with dad, and it’s fascinating. I’ve also seen times where people were having internal problems in their organs, And sometimes I can feel that, and when we bring that back into resonance, then it, sometimes the situations actually clear up.

Health, you’re talking about health-wise. Yes. Yes

And so you can do this remotely. Correct. Interesting. That’s very cool. I mean, and I saw that you, you know, you’re interested in neuroscience and I, uh, I think that’s fascinating. My coach, she says scripture, science, and strategy, and she’s very interested in neuroscience as well. It’s just fascinating how she pulls all those things together. That’s Brenda Byers, my coach. I

think about it in this manner. There’s a story, I don’t know if it’s kind of a joke, but really it’s a story of, you know, the old guy says, hey, I’m going out on a trip, and he goes on this trail. Well, he gets stuck in the mud and in the quicksand, and he’s going down. He’s like, God, save me, save me, save me. And an elephant comes by and says, hey, grab my trunk and I’ll pull you out. And he’s like, I’m good. God’s gonna save me. Save me, God, save me. And this happens over and over. And the animal comes by and says, hey, grab my tail. I’ll pull you out. And the next thing you know, of course he dies. He goes up to heaven and he goes, well, what happened? I thought you were gonna save me. Well, I gave you these tools, these opportunities to hold on, and you didn’t take them. And that’s how I feel about neuroscience and the tools that we can use along with our prayer and our faith. Because yeah, God in the moment could heal everything. But if we in our own hearts don’t feel like we’re deserving, and if we aren’t going through the actions of creating our business or our health or whatever it is that we’re trying to work on, If we aren’t putting forth that effort, I don’t know if he’s going to do that. He can.

He certainly can. If God can create it, he can heal it. That’s another

one of my sayings.

But there’s something. I think that the neuroscience is just proving more of God. We are all connected. We are all energetically connected and intertwined. And so, you know, that’s how that like the butterfly effect that book I met Andy Andrews. Man, you know, when the butterfly shakes, you know, waves its wings, it could start a tsunami on the other side of the world with that vibration. And, and it’s fascinating subject. I mean, I just, I’m like, wow, when you start thinking about it, you know, isn’t that cool?

Yeah. Have you ever been in a room with a bunch of people and then someone, someone specific walks in and it’s not because you know who they are, but you just feel something. It’s like the whole, the whole room shifts. when they walk in, and it’s not necessarily just confidence, but there’s something about them that

just-

It goes

both ways. You know, you feel like, wow, something’s just shifted up, and now, ooh, I need to get out of here.

Yeah, it’s like, okay, I’m putting my wall up here, and all right, you can go over there. There’s tools for that, too. Yeah, it’s been a fascinating journey, all of the learnings and how we can bring our spirit back into faith, because fear, fear is the enemy, in every manner, fear is the enemy.

Yes, so when I say, you know, I’ve said many times too, if it’s one, you know, we’ve got love and fear, those are the opposites, you know, and if it’s of love, it’s of God, if it’s not of love, And I’m like, if it’s a pendulum and this one little tick towards the fear side, then it isn’t of God.

And so

if God is love, he can’t be not love. And if God is in bold faith, no fear when if you keep stepping with the faith, the next right step with the faith that it’s all going, everything is always working out for me. That’s something I say all the time. If it doesn’t feel like it, I just got to keep moving because it, where else

do I have

to work? Where else do I have to take that next step from and where I am? And if I’m, if I’m confident that everything is working out in my favor, then it’s easier to get out of a situation or circumstance you don’t like. If you can know that it’s going to work, knowing that it’s working out and staying out of that fear.

I think that brings back to a little bit of self-leadership in that I had a client one time who, he kept telling me how his bosses didn’t like these things. Oh, my boss says this, my boss says that. And I looked at him and I said, that’s feedback. That’s all it is. It’s feedback. Yeah, but it’s negative and it makes me feel like, no, no, no, stop. It’s feedback. You have the opportunity now to learn and grow from this. Or you can be defensive and angry and frustrated about it. Your choice. But really, it’s just feedback. There doesn’t need to be any kind of emotional connection to this. Because in that feedback, it’s like, oh, well, now I can make the decision of Do I want this to continue? I mean, if my boss likes everything to be, you know, blue, and I bring in, you know, black, then, I mean, it would be easier just to bring in blue, make them happier, make them feel better. They make the world a better place in their lives, and it becomes in a better situation. So I think it’s sometimes it’s good to just remember that. That when people say things, we can control what we’re saying. We can’t control what other people are saying or thinking about what we are, who we are, what we’re doing, whatever. That’s their problem. That’s not my problem. My problem is how I react.

Yes. So the four agreements, have you familiar with that book? The Four Agreements, and it’s the book I’ve recommended the most of any other book, The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, is because, I mean, be impeccable with your word. Don’t take things personally. Hello? Wouldn’t the world be a better place if we did that? Don’t make assumptions. We’re always assuming that, you know, we’re making all these assumptions that don’t matter, that aren’t real. And always do your best. So those are good agreements, if you ask me.

Absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah. If we…

I bought that in the new age section back in decades ago now. And I was like, ooh. And then I’m like, but those agreements are universal. If we all learned how not to take things personally, And then I have my, I mentioned Brenda Byers, my coach, and she’s, she did a 12 week study, biblical study on the Four Agreements, the book itself. And so I’m like, that was kind of cool to find out because we both think that’s an amazing, an amazing book in spite of its, you know, its bent. I mean, it came from a shaman, which is a wise, wise guy, wise medical, not medical, but anyway, don’t need to go into that. But it was like, um,

you know, it’s interesting. One of the gals who worked with me, she was talking about how she says, you know, if people learn some of the things that you teach, if we learned some of that in church, it would actually make the world a better place. And I think that really, puts us back into the driver’s seat of learning and growing and knowing that there are more places to learn than just where we’re comfortable. You know, your book was from the new age section and yet for a lot of Christians, oh my gosh, you know, it’s new age and that’s gonna be bad for me. But actually, it’s really beneficial in so many different areas. You know,

well, yeah, so if God can create it, he can heal it. I said that. I believe, you know, I had a specific situation. One of my friends, ultimately, we found out a few days later, had less than a 1% chance of being alive the next morning. I mean, he had had aorta split and all,

you

know, crazy stuff. And I was like, don’t, you speak life, not death. You speak, you know, to the rest of them like, you know, do not speak anything. This is, Well, but the, but the, the, the doctor said, and I said, well, who created the doctor? And, and, and, well, science says, well, who, who created science? Yeah. So why are we, and guess what? He’s doing, he’s, I think eight years later now, you know, and, and, uh, we would not let him, we would not speak. We won’t spoke what we desired. which is of the Father, when you speak what you desire, it’s of the Father. And then He gives you the desires of your heart. And I learned from Brenda that, you know, the word want, I always said, speak what you want, not what you don’t want, but really, want means lack, right? So let’s speak our desires, and then God gives us the desires of our heart. And I feel like so much of this isn’t taught in the religious world. And it’s like somebody just said, you know, It’s too woo-woo, but it’s not. It’s God. God created it.

Absolutely.

He

created

how the sound, the music, the tuning works. I mean, if it’s not of fear, and it doesn’t hurt other people, then it works for you. I think it’s worth using. People are going to look for you on Facebook for Real Life Visions or Crystal Shelton. You’ve got a free session you want to offer?

I do actually. What it starts off with is a, there are two that I can do. One is a quiz that is for a divorced Christian women. who can tell you, this quiz will tell you where you are in your healing journey. And then from that, you get a free session that will help you to go through the tools and have at least two to three personal recommendations specifically for your situation. Um, and it could, you know, divorced is anywhere from at the beginning to like, it could be 10, 20 years later. And it’s like, uh, you know what, I’m still bitter. I’m still not happy. I’m, I still don’t feel good. And so it’ll help you go through any of that whole situation. And then the next one, I have a free session that again, it helps you to see where you are. where you want to be and gives you recommendations to take that next step in your joy and your love and connecting back to God.

That’s beautiful. You had said, you teach this because you were that person that was depressed, and angry, and overweight, and drinking too much, and all that kind of stuff, your life was out of control as well. So when you can find the peace that passes understanding and then spread it, then we’re on to something. I think both of us do that, right? Where we just want people to find their, the value, every one of us has value, and we want to, you know, find that and quit and shift our self-talk.

Yeah, I feel like it would be, if we’re in the cave, and we have our little light, if we take that light, you know, like the old kids, you know, the old kids’ song of… This little light of

mine, I’m gonna let it shine.

Added under a bushel, no. Exactly. If we take that light of the learning and the growing that we have gained through the Lord, we got to let that shine and let that move into other people and know that there are, there’s hope, there is possibility, and anything is possible through God, through our tools, through learning, through growing, and for more than anything else, having hope.

Yeah. More than anything else, having hope. Oh, absolutely. So my show, ultimately, you know, is Unconditional Love, but it’s about telling your story of overcoming and telling and offering hope. So that’s where I kind of started with my this this whole Charla Anderson show. So we’re kind we’re ending up here it’s a top of the hour almost and it’s is there any last words you want to leave with us?

Yeah you know we all have the storms and when we’re when we’re going through the storms we think oh you know I can do this myself The fact is, you can. When you do it yourself, it tends to cost more money, it tends to take more time, but if you want to streamline the process, it doesn’t have to be me, but find someone to support you. Find someone who knows what they’re doing and can make a difference so that you can move forward in an easier manner. and learn and grow and be the best person that you can be, and trust that God is always with you. Because He is. Absolutely. He’s with us today. Yeah,

always. He’s no matter where you are, you know, there you can’t not, He’s not with you, no matter what. And when we can start learning and leaning into that peace that He can provide and and step out of the confusion that’s so prevalent in our world right now, and the divisiveness.

Yeah, I think about it this way, in that if we’re not feeling the presence, then that means we’ve blocked it out for somehow. With all the world, we’ve blocked it out. And a lot of times that takes, you know, we say we don’t want to cry or whatever, But when we open our hearts, then we can always feel God is with us in every moment.

Every moment. And I mean, there’s no, I mean, he’s omnipresent. He is us. I mean, he’s in us. We are like Jesus with skin on here. So we’re, you know, that’s the goal. Well, thanks so much, Crystal, for joining me today. And guys, if you’ll go to charlanderson.com/podcast-shows, look, you know, it’s got a blog and this and YouTube, it’ll be on YouTube and Vimeo.
