Latina Boss Transformation With Mirna Martinez

A good beautiful day, beautiful souls. This is Charla Anderson, host of the Charla Anderson Show, collector and connector of fascinating people. Everyone is fascinating, especially YOU! I’m so grateful you joined us. We’re going to have a spitfire Latino boss Mirna coming as our guest. You will not even begin to believe what she has overcome then that offers hope.

First, before I introduce her, we’re going to do our little breathing exercise. Our 22-second mini vacation. We’re going to breathe in some 7 seconds of calm, hold for 4 seconds, and breathe out gratitude. If you come on with a video, you might turn your video off for this portion then we’ll have Q&A coming on. I’m so grateful that we had guests, but we’re going to do a little breathing exercise. Are you ready? Breathing in calm for 7 seconds. Here we go. Hold. Release. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

That is something we probably should do more often than once a week. We should do it fairly often because we’re so attached to our devices. We want to slow down every so often. We should slow down every so often and take a deep breath. Be still and know. Hear the still small voice. Get grounded and centered. That’s a big part of my message in my show.

Looking Back

I cannot wait to tell you or introduce you to Mirna Martinez. I talked to overcomers all the time. Everyone has a story but some are more compelling than others. We met through BRI. Terilee Harrison has a Let’s Talk BRI, bold, real, and impactful. It’s about faith-based speakers coming together, learning together, and growing a community. Mirna, let’s start with, who are you in this world, and then we’ll weave in all the things that you’re doing.

I am someone who has started the process of healing and has found out the purpose. I have found out my divine gift and my purpose. Therefore, I’m starting to walk in it. You can say I’m that child who finally picked up that crown and fixed it. I am going 100% in and not wasting any more time listening to a concept that is fake. I’m not useless and worthless. I’m someone that is chosen. I have survived all these things that have happened to my life. Now, I’m ready to share it with the world and help inspire others. You can say I’m a CEO with a traumatic past who is now inspired to help others live through whatever they’re going through and let them know that there is a choice and there is more for us out there.

When I heard you mentioned things like 52 siblings and you were raised in the hood. You were raped by your brother and had a baby at eleven. It was a fire hydrant of “Oh my gosh. How can she survive?” If I’m not mistaken, you said of all of your siblings, your parents, and everybody, you’re the only one that has risen above.

The Charla Anderson Show ~ Collector & Connector of Fascinating People (and EVERYONE is Fascinating!) | Mirna Martinez | Latina Boss
Latina Boss: I’m a CEO with a traumatic past who inspires others to live through whatever they are going through. I let them know there is more for us out there.

It’s so sad to think of but it’s true in every which way and every manner. Even in marriage, that doesn’t exist. It’s not a possibility. Why would you want to get married? You’re just going to split up at the end of the day. Love is not real. You can’t depend on a man or raise kids. What’s the point of you raising a kid or teaching them all this if they’re just going to leave? Buying a house. Why are you buying a house if, at the end of the day, it’s not even yours? Why are you going to open a business? That’s too much stress. Everything is negative. I was like, “No, I am going to graduate.”

That’s when I went back to high school and did all four years of high school and won. When I found out I could accomplish that, what else could I accomplish? There’s good that comes out of achieving things that people tell you that are not possible like, “Let me show you that it can be possible. I’m going to use all that negativity to my advantage.” It’s in so many aspects. Leaving my family behind in a way was hard but it was the best decision because now I can go back and help others come and overachieve the next generation of kids. Show them the way or open a path.

What an incredible story though. We hear about the hood but I did not have that horrific experience where everything in my life was negative. This is a guess but they probably look at you and say, “Do you think you’re better than us, don’t you?” Do you get all that?

It’s funny because I was that person. You get raised to don’t be a hypocrite and don’t be a backstabber. Change is bad. If you’re in the hood, you’re going to stay in the hood. This is it. If you think any differently than that, you’re automatically a traitor or a two-faced, and there are consequences for it. Fighting through that mentality was very hard because when I think of goals, I didn’t even know what the word goal was.

My goal at that time without realizing was that I wanted to stay in the streets. I wanted to be so well respected that even my daughter was going to be well-known in the streets. That was as high as it was. It is so sad that we are trained to stay in that environment like, “These are your four walls. This is as big as you’re going to get. Stay here.” That’s why I’m excited to meet other people. That’s where networking comes in. It’s important to choose friends wisely, those people around you, and the ones that are going to have an impact on your life.

Choose your friends wisely. The people around you will have an impact on your life. Share on X

I’m sure it’s sad. We have just known each other briefly. We met a few weeks ago. We’ve seen each other in Let’s Talk BRI if you want to find that. You have such a strong drive and personality. You’re so dynamic and so out there. You’re the CEO of say six companies now and they’re very diverse. Don’t get too big for your bridges was one of the things I was raised with. It’s designed to keep you small. Something happened and you were born with the right combination of genes to shift.

My husband has always been awoken. We talk about this all the time. It’s him and another person and there’s something in me that no one had ever mentioned. Nor did I even see myself. I was that one person that if I say it, it’s going to happen. If I tell you to do it, you’re going to do it and that’s that. I was so dominant. You were going to know who I was. There’s no question about that and you’re going to respect who I am.

I converted all that experience that I had in the streets into what we do now. The funny thing is my husband was like, “You’re the one. You’re the one that’s going to be able to make this happen.” I have so many things in my head that I want to do, but I don’t know how to project them out here. When he starts talking, I start doing. It’s like firing him up to go out and do it as well. We became such a great team. Now we own five different businesses.

The great thing is that it is a minority-certified business. They are women-owned businesses. That’s how I’m the CEO. If I’m going to the field from being in the office. He taught me everything he knew. It was inspiring to see what he saw in me. He was like, “You’re the one. You’re going to make this happen.” I didn’t even see that. I would never thought that I was going to be a businesswoman ever. I thought I was going to be cleaning carpets for the rest of my life.

Was he raised in the hood?

I met him in the streets but he had a good life. Not necessarily like mine. Mine was very traumatic. I won’t say he had a fancy life or everything, but he did have a household. He had a good place to be raised, but his thoughts were very limited. He would think broadly and everybody around him was thinking very close. He had to escape from that as well. Getting out of my household was definitely because of him. He was like, “We’re going to live all the way over there. I want to get you as far as I can from your family because your family is crazy.”

If 52 kids get together on a holiday, which I’m sure that doesn’t probably happen out there. It’s a big family. I’m grateful that he has seen that in you and you received it because you have to receive it too.

I fought him for nine years about it.

When I talk in the hood, most of us would think New York, but you’re talking Fort Worth.

I’m talking about Dallas.

I am a Fort Worth advocate. I’m a Tarrant County side all the way, but there’s a mindset difference between the two cities. They are 30 miles apart, but their mindset is quite different.

I live in Fort Worth now. We did it on purpose because people don’t travel to Fort Worth for whatever reason. We knew that my family wasn’t going to come out this way. Fort Worth is much more family-oriented, slower, and friendlier. Dallas is way more go, go, go. You’re going to let me cut you in. If we’re going to crash, we’re going to crash type of thing. That’s how Dallas is. It’s very rough on the edges. Fort Worth is like you turn on your blinkers when it rains to let people know, “I’m about to drive slow, just FYI.” In Dallas, we don’t do that. I love Fort Worth.

Career Path

I do too. I’m an advocate in a big way and I was an ambassador. During the Super Bowl, I lived Downtown and it was when we had the Super Bowl in that big ice storm years ago. I lived down there and was an ambassador for Fort Worth. I got to meet some of the people and it was fun. You’re CEO of a security company.

I can tell you pretty much my list. I own and I am the CEO of a security company. National Special Force consists of armed and unarmed officers. We also do private investigations and process serving. With that, it inspired me to open an academy. That’s another place where I’m a CEO as well because I chew everything in it when it comes to building and structuring it and making sure everything’s on point. Although we are in the State of Texas, you do not need a license to carry but a lot of people are not educated.

They don’t know how to handle these weapons and it was very important for me to be able to provide that. It will give leverage if any situation happens. It makes you look good to have your license. We also certified all our officers. We do internships as well with college and high school kids to have them shadow our officers. Maybe they’re looking into getting into criminal justice. That’s something that we do. I’m on the advisory board for the law enforcement department in Arlington. We do a lot with them.

My third business and fourth is ground-up construction and management. We do interior, exterior, and demolition for our construction site. On the management part, we do janitorial, portal, and property management as well. I do own Classy Ink Signatures as well, which is our notary business and real estate investing. We have different properties that we look into and remodel with our construction company. It’s a mixture. We also do a lot of public services for our Latino community.

We provide virtual office options. We have the trophy club, which is a location that you can rent out for workshops, training, and things like that. That’s mainly everything. Mirna.CEO is a brand that just got started. I was inspired to bring everything together and also my motivational speaking and anything that I have going on in my life that might be able to inspire others.

The Charla Anderson Show ~ Collector & Connector of Fascinating People (and EVERYONE is Fascinating!) | Mirna Martinez | Latina Boss
Latina Boss: We do a lot of public services for our Latino community. We provide them with virtual office options.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I’m the Vice Chair of the Latino Business Alliance for the Chamber of Arlington, so I concentrate on that. I host networking events. For example, my last networking event hosted up to 800 people. That’s what I do in my spare time.

That’s not spare time. There’s no such. Nobody has spare time. I heard this one time. We have full-time or part-time but nobody has spare time because even in your spare time, you’re usually busy. That’s crazy that you do all that. To me, they’re spinning plates. You’ve got this one to do and this one to do. Finding good help is a thing. Finding the right people to support your businesses, dreams, and jobs has got to be a piece of it.

That’s where the CEO came in. At first, I’m just an entrepreneur, owner, and founder. When I had to come in, because we were getting our certifications, I had to get a title. Now it’s getting serious. We’re not a small business. We’re becoming a corporation and you need a title. What is that title? What is it that you do? CEO was the one that fits more with what I do.

As a CEO, I had to learn that a CEO doesn’t do everything in the company. I had to learn to delegate, hire, work with others, and start learning about team building. I’m no longer looking out for myself anymore. Now, I’m looking out for a whole company, its employees, and their families. If the company is not growing or not getting the business or the gigs or the contracts, then these employees are not getting work, jobs, and employment. That means their families are not getting fed. They’re not having a home. That’s the responsibility that I had to learn to delegate.

That’s a lot. You look like a child. It’s like, “How on Earth?” I know you have a daughter and a family. You’re including them in many of your businesses.

That’s something important. Our construction business is just starting. Our security business already has a strong foundation. Our construction company, although it is doing well, it’s just starting. To me, it’s a baby. Our daughters need to understand that although they have a very nice life, there’s work to be done. How is it that we get funded for everything that you want? How is it that we’re able to go out and eat or if we’re missing milk, we’re able to buy it? My husband and I weren’t able to do that.

If we didn’t have milk, then you better mix your oatmeal with water. You have to think outside of the box. They don’t have that struggle. My husband likes to make sure that the girls understand what is it that we do and how we do it. If for whatever reason one day they decide to take over the businesses, they know what every position does even to the smallest one. I know a lot of people are like, “Your daughter is seven and she’s scrubbing toilets.” That’s one of our job sites and I want her to know. Everybody should know how to scrub a toilet.

I don’t want her to be like, “We have a cleaning lady that comes in and cleans our house so I don’t have to do that.” If you want that luxury, there’s work to be done for you to be able to afford those things. It also helps bond as a family. We like to do everything together as a family. There’ll be times that we’re in the office and everybody is cleaning the office or somebody is printing or filling up envelopes. It’s very important to have our girls included in everything that we do.

If you want to afford a life of luxury, there is hard work to be done. Share on X

I love that so much. You get to instill your values. They get to watch you on how you interact and you’re integrity on how you do things on a daily basis. What an incredible education. They can learn 10,000 times more watching and working with you guys than they will in a public school. Values are important and I feel like once you are clear on some of your values, then your decisions are much easier down the road.

The Charla Anderson Show ~ Collector & Connector of Fascinating People (and EVERYONE is Fascinating!) | Mirna Martinez | Latina Boss

I had this conversation. Consider your children and what’s important to you. Is it important to tell the truth and do the right thing? You need to think about those things before you get into those situations. They have a work ethic that will not quit and I’m so thrilled with that. As a family, you’re an example. Here you are moving into motivational speaking. There’s no doubt that you’ll go far with all of that. I’m so impressed.

That’s the other thing. It’s so hard to see a family, specialty where I’m from. You see a lot of broken families. Having a single mother or father is normal like, “Cool.” Seeing a family like, “You got your dad and mom?” That’s weird and that’s so sad. Now being together, it becomes this influence that it is possible for you to have a good man and be able to raise your daughters.

It is possible for you to manage your business, your personal life, and your family all at the same time. A woman should be able to have it all. Everything is created for a reason but a lot of people make it seem like you either have one thing and you have the other thing. That’s it. I’m living proof that even the worst out of the worst can have it all. I’m so grateful for that.

Overcoming Trauma

We started with some of the horrific things that happened in your life, being chained up to tables, forced to watch pornography, and being raped by your brothers. It’s beyond comprehension because most of us have had some trauma in our lives. We smush it down or whatever but that was more than some trauma. The overcoming piece and the acknowledging, I do believe that sharing your story is healing for yourself.

Being chained up to a dining room table at age two, I didn’t know about it until maybe two years ago when I started my healing process. I always had these nightmares. They were very random. They would spark up in certain situations and my husband had to deal with that. I started going to therapy and talked about it. This is why mental health is so important because I didn’t know about it.

In these nightmares, I can see these dark figures walking this way and that way. I can see this grayish TV view. It was blurry in the back, and then there was always something right here. If I looked up, it was dark. I could always see it and I was so cold. I was freezing, then there was a pole. I remember hearing the chains. This nightmare would happen over and over.

I started my healing process and that opened me up to be able to meet with some family members that I had not spoken to in a very long time, maybe over ten years, and my husband was a witness. He was there with me. We were talking like, “We’re so proud of you. You overcame so much. From what we know and what you’re doing, this is amazing.” They were genuinely proud of me. We started talking and I said, “It’s crazy. Even with nightmares and trauma.” She’s like, “Nightmares?”

We started diving deep into the nightmare and she’s like, “That’s when you were two and your mom would drop you off at this babysitter’s house. The babysitter would leave to spend time with her friends or go shopping or whatever she would do. She will leave you with her husband. Her husband would invite his neighbor or friend over to drink. They will get a kick-off for having you be cold because absurd things happen to your body when you get cold. They make you watch pornography and they will get a kick off of that. They would love to watch you do that.”

At that moment, I almost fainted. I was like, “What?” Everything started aligning. It was bidding and makes so much sense. That nightmare that was so dark and blurry got cleared. My husband was like, “Are you okay? Do we need to leave?” He saw it. I got blushed. It was like, “This is a whole other part of my life that I didn’t know.” I remember beginning to get raped at seven by my stepdad. I remember why I started getting raped by my brother when I was eleven. I was seeking protection from the stepdad and that’s how that happened but I didn’t remember age two. I remember some of age five and whatnot. At age five, it looked like I had a nice life. I had a stepdad who was good to me then I had my mom. We had a home and it was just us three. My mom ends up leaving that good stepdad and gets with somebody else. Mental health is very important. You might not know it.

My granddaughter is two. I’m cringing. It’s hard to conceive that. I’m so grateful that they had the capacity to let you know because once you know, then you have the choice. It’s all a choice. You can deal with it, heal from it, and move forward or stay trapped. You’ve chosen to move forward on that and I’m so in awe.

Now I am that one person who is hugging that little girl when she is cold, and when she feels like there was nobody there for her. I am that person. I can close my eyes and see, feel, and hug that little girl, and be who I wished I had at that time. That has helped me realize that that’s my purpose. I’m supposed to be that person for others who think they’re alone or nobody knows what they’re going through. That feeling of disgust, darkness, and no point of view being here. You’re just taking up space. You’re useless and worthless. There’s something beautiful that’s going to come out of it and I’m here for those people.

Married Life

I get chills about all this because it’s so horrific. You’re writing your source. Your story will be told. You said something about a movie or a series. It will. I do believe that the trauma gets told and the happy ending and the hope are there. The lesson on how you can weave that into healing is there. We have a guest and she wants to ask questions. Is it Kimberly?

No, it’s Nancy.

Thank you for joining us.

I’ve been trying to and I put it on my calendar. I thought I missed it. I’m like, “Oh no.”

Good for you.

What a wonderful inspiring story. I’m so glad I was able to get on because you have overwhelmed me. It’s amazing. Did your husband have any schooling or anything for you to know how to develop all this? How did you pull it all together?

Me and my husband struggled. We’ve tried to divorce each other so many times. I didn’t know how to treat a man or love me because I couldn’t even love myself for nine years. The fact that he even had patience was all God’s doing in my knowledge. He didn’t. We would try to slip up and everything, but there was always something that would bring us back. Now I understand that he was helping all that trauma come out.

Every time we fought, there was something that would come out and something that would be fixed. It took nine years for me to finally be able to love myself, my children, and my husband, and value them for who they are. Before then, I was a very cold soul walking in this world. I was not living whatsoever. I was just breathing and walking around with no reason to be on this Earth, at least to my knowledge.

The Charla Anderson Show ~ Collector & Connector of Fascinating People (and EVERYONE is Fascinating!) | Mirna Martinez | Latina Boss
Latina Boss: It took nine years for me to finally be able to love myself, my children, and my husband.

It wasn’t until I went through the whole healing process mentally, physically, and financially whatever way that I was able to hold my daughter. My daughter was fourteen at the time. For fourteen years, she did not have a mother who could genuinely love her. She was provided for but she didn’t know what a hug and kiss was because I didn’t know what that was. The youngest one was probably four years old and she didn’t know either. My husband for nine years didn’t know what that was.

I finally healed to where I was able to see their beauty, purpose, gifts, and shine. I was able to value them, hug them, and express my feelings toward them. It was very impactful for all of us. It was even hard for them to adjust to me being expressive of what I was saying because I would not say I was sorry to anyone. I would not tell anybody that I love them. I didn’t hug and kiss. I didn’t do that. It’s like toughen up, deal with it, and get up. That’s the way I was raised.

Mother

Two things I want to add here or ask about. The way I say see it, bullies don’t love themselves enough to know how to love others. Bullies are victims too. When I call it bullies, it’s people walking around with not enough self-love to know how to have the confidence to love others. I’m incredibly proud of you and grateful because a lot of people don’t ever get there. This is where I was going. You have forgiven your mom. At least that’s what I understand. Let’s talk a bit about how did that happen because your mom allowed all these things to happen. Hurt people hurt people. She doesn’t know. We only know where we’ve come from. Tell us about the mom.

My mom has her own story. My mom had thirteen kids. I have 52 siblings from a combination of my mom and my dad. My mom had thirteen kids and I’m number thirteen. I’m the baby out of all of them. My mom has been working since she was seven and been getting raped. It’s a very normal thing. My grandma and older sisters went through it. It’s a normal thing. My mother had to abandon all her kids and come to the state illegally because she was fleeing from the war that was going on in El Salvador. Gangs were bad. It was a whole thing.

She had to flee and come here without knowing one soul, nine months pregnant and she had to door knock to see who could give her shelter because I was about to be born. She had to get here, work, and send money to her kids so they could be fed and have a home and things like that while being pregnant and being a single mother. Not knowing one person in this world. She didn’t know anybody in Texas.

I was born and she had to work. Who else was going to provide for diapers and food? Who else was going to give that? As a single mother and independent woman, she had to do what she had to do. Now, what happens when she leaves wasn’t a choice of her like, “Here’s my daughter. You can rape her and have fun with her.” That wasn’t the choice. Her thing was like, “Here’s my child. I have to go to work. I have no option. Please take care of my child.”

Unfortunately, that was the place that I was in. She ended up having financial relief when she found these men because they helped out with the rent and all these things, but she didn’t know that they were doing this thing. When there was a moment I told her, “Mom, this is what’s happening. I’m getting da da da.” She did say, “The devil was in but now they’re good. You should be fine.” That was her mistake.

Mind you, this is scary for a woman who doesn’t know the language and doesn’t even have the funds. She’s very limited in what she can do. She’s hoping that this guy who’s begging for forgiveness has changed and he’s not going to touch her daughter anymore. We’re looking at a victim mentality that has never healed and whatnot. Even up to this day, she’s not willing to take any type of help from me. She still sees nothing wrong with what happened or things that I had such a traumatic life.

My sister, a few years ago when I started my healing, we had this argument where she said, “I don’t know what makes you so special that it shouldn’t have happened to you.” I said, “What do you mean? You know? You know all this was going on and you did nothing about it? I would ask you for help and you would tell me to just close my eyes and it would be over. You encouraged me to go out and live with my brother and be his wife at eleven years old. You know and you could have stopped it. Instead, just because it happened to you, you had allowed it to happen to me.” That’s the normal thing.

The only difference with me is I decided that no one was going to touch my daughter. Nobody is going to use my daughter. I don’t care what happens if I have to have my daughter sleeping in the backseat while I go to work or whatever, but nobody is touching my daughter. I’m going to give her a different life. I’m going to start something different. That’s that. I’m not going to allow what happened to me to happen to them. It could have happened to my oldest daughter. She has some type of trauma. Now she’s going to therapy and stuff. She has abandonment issues and all this, but she didn’t go through any of the things that I had to go through. To me, that’s a win.

You’re extraordinary. I can’t even say you have forgiven your mom. I want to read something. I have a tiny book, Candy Bar Hugs: It Doesn’t Take Much to Make a Difference. There is something that I wrote on the very first page as a part of my dedication to my children. I don’t have to read it. I know it, but I call it forgiveness release.

It’s like, “I did what I did. I didn’t do what I didn’t do. I did all that I knew to do with what I knew at the time just like you did and are doing in your life right now. I love you.” People only do all they know to do. You can’t change any of that. We can only change moving forward. I did all that I needed to do with what I knew at the time just like you’re doing. It was this pointing that add a little bit.

I will say that it’s hard because when I woke and realized everything that happened to me was bad. It’s a big eye-opener. I was like, “I can’t believe I survived all that or I went through all that.” I can’t be mad at my mother. It’s not her fault. She taught me how to be an independent woman. She taught me how to work. She taught me respect. She taught me how to be strong, and I can’t take that away from her.

She taught me that. She taught me to get up like life is going to be hard and everybody is going to be crying about it, but you do not do that. You get up and go. Don’t look back. I have a lot to thank her for. She’s a sweet lady. Unfortunately, we don’t have the best relationship right now. I’m hoping that maybe one day we’ll come to that. I feel like she doesn’t care but if she were ever to pass away to where she felt any type of guilt, at least she’ll know that I have forgiven her and I’m honored to be her daughter. I appreciate her having me in this world. I hope she rests in peace if that were to be the case. I wish her no harm. I’m grateful for her.

That’s taking the high road. My mom always said, “When it’s hard, take the high road.” You still can rise above it and be your best regardless of where you come from. You are the poster child for that. You have an overcoming. Nancy, do you have any other questions? I’m so grateful to have you as a visitor. I don’t have a lot of them generally speaking. I haven’t encouraged that a whole lot because sometimes I can’t tell who it is. I’m grateful that you came and decided to share and participate.

This is what the WinWinWomen.tv network is all about. Let’s share our stories. Let’s offer her to the globe. It’s all over the globe. Whatever we can do to make a difference in the next person is what we need to do. I did want to touch with your branding. I am impressed. I love the little Mirna.CEO. It’s on everything. That’s your social media handle @Mirna.CEO. That’s how people will find you.

Pain Into Power

People are going to want to hear your story. They’re going to want to buy your book. Mirna.CEO that’s worth checking out for sure and finding on Facebook. Who knows? In this physical vicinity of DFW, what a blessing to have some of those businesses to draw from, to know somebody who has the integrity and the hard work to make them work. Any last words, Mirna? What do you want to leave people with? What’s most impactful for you?

The last thing I want to say is we all have a moment where we can fix our crown because we’re all part of this divine royalty blood. As long as we are ready to receive what was destined for us, all you need to say is, “I’m ready for it.” Take all that pain and turn it into power. The thing about it is that it might hurt today but tomorrow it’s not. There’s beauty in everything. Even when I get problems now, I’m like, “It’s okay because something good is coming.”

The Charla Anderson Show ~ Collector & Connector of Fascinating People (and EVERYONE is Fascinating!) | Mirna Martinez | Latina Boss

I want to be a testimony to how amazing life can get. We’re talking about eating in the streets and garbage cans, being cold and not having a place to go, working at bars at age thirteen, and being a dropout. I haven’t put it in public so I’m going to say to your show. I’m about to get my doctorate in Business Development in October. It’s beautiful that it’s possible. This girl on the streets is living a life that most people say is impossible to have. If I can do it, you can too,

You’ll have to change your branding to DrMirna.CEO. Did you see I put my crown? I have a crown. As the queen, we get to choose. I’m grateful you reminded me of my crown. Congratulations on the doctorate. That is huge. You were talking about it and I overheard that, and then I haven’t heard it since or in any of the other things that I was catching up with you.

It’s been a secret because I’ve been working on it so hard and a lot of things. Everything I do, I do it with purpose in it. At the ceremony, I wanted to inspire others to create their own success. That’s where we’re headed. You will find out soon where we’re going to do it and how we’re going to do it. Everyone is invited. If you want to meet, let’s connect and collaborate. I appreciate you so much, Charla. This is amazing. You have a beautiful platform and I can’t wait to show it to all my followers what an amazing show you have.

Latina Boss: I do everything with purpose.

Thank you so much. Tell me what your doctorate is in again.

Business Development.

Episode Wrap-Up

The accomplishment of that is off the charts coming from being a dropout. Resilience is a word for you. You’ve heard that a thousand times but you are resilient. You are going to find a way no matter what. What a beautiful soul you are. What a beautiful message you have and what an inspiration to the world. I’m so grateful that you would come and take the time to be with me and share your passion.

The honor is all mine. Thank you. This was fun.

It is fun. I’m not an interviewer. I just want to hear the story and let’s share.

Maybe next time we can talk about the whole story.

There’s more?

We got into detail in some parts of it, but if I tell you my whole story, which you got to hear most of at BRI Talks. It’s from trauma to trauma like one episode to another. We need to have another episode for that.

I’m grateful for you. Thanks, Nancy, for jumping on.

My pleasure. Thank you so much.

Always in my show, you are perfect exactly who and where you are. There’s no other place to be than where you are right now. You might as well grasp it and embrace it, and then make a choice if you don’t like it. Make a different choice and say a different word. Every word matters. Split-second transformation, change your word and your life. I encourage you all to remember to always choose joy.
